Cold!

Started the day at -12.  At lunch I think it made it up to about 4 or so.  It was -1 when I was coming home, and yes it did snow.  Wasn't much, and was pretty easy to shovel off when I got home.

The drive home was pretty scary - quite a few spinouts, and I saw at least 2 crashed cars in the middle of the road.  I came across one icy patch that I just slid across, into the breakdown lane, where I could drive on the snow, instead of the ice.  It took about 45 minutes to get home - 15 miles.

I hope they get most of it cleaned up by tomorrow.  Not looking forward to driving to work in the same conditions!

The Break is over

Back to work I go.  I have Wednesday off, then not another holiday till May, which kinda stinks.

It's supposed to snow tomorrow too, which kinda stinks more.  Hopefully it will be light, and not the heavy stuff like before.

Quiet Days

Had a quiet Christmas - watched a couple of movies we've been wanting to see, had a small ham dinner.  Since I'm off work till the 30th, I've just been hanging around the house, catching up on some tv, doing a little gaming, trying to organize my comic collection.  I have to head to the comic book store tomorrow to pick up some more sleeves, and probably at least one more box to store them in.  If I can get them organized a bit better, I can regain some space in my office.

We might go view some holiday lights this weekend, before the cold snap comes back, and the high is a negative number. again.

I'm ok with the snow.  I don't like shoveling it, really, but I'm ok with it.  But this awful cold is another thing altogether.

Sigh

Looks like we're going to be getting a new vacuum cleaner for Christmas.  Not exactly what I wanted, but I guess we get what we need.

Lots of meetings, little of work.

Seems to be most days anymore.

I went to the post office in the morning to pick up a package, but the line was really long, so I decided to go after work.

The line was just about as long, but I didn't have to go anywhere, so I just waited.  Then they couldn't find the package.  So they're going to call me when they do find it.

First time this has happened to me.

Well, it wasn't a terrible day

It did snow during the day again, so I had to shovel when I got home.  Again.

My nerves did act up today - couldn't explain during the meeting why my feet kept moving around, without getting into the whole story about degeneration and all that.  Tomorrow is nearly a full day of meetings, although we are being taken to lunch for the holidays... that's something at least!

The Hobbit

Managed to go see it today, in Imax and in 3D.  It was a pretty good part 2.  The previews were really loud, though.

We also visited Walmart for a few groceries and Christmas shopping. 

Now I have to go back to work.  Can you tell how excited I am?

Saturday

It snowed some more today. Joy.  I played a little bit on the computer this morning, then we went shopping at Barnes and Noble, the comic book store, and a couple clothing stores.  Timing was wrong to visit the movies, so we just came home and watched tv till bedtime.

Planning on going to the movie tomorrow for sure.

Friday

Let's just say today was a crappy day and leave it at that.  Hopefully tomorrow will be less stressful.

I am ready

Ready for the weekend.  I can't seem to get enough sleep during the week, my shoulder's hurting me again (thanks to the snowchopping I did the other day), and I'm just feeling blah.

One more day of stuff, then I can rest for a couple days. A little bit.  Have to do some Christmas shopping.

Not much today

worked all day, came home, ordered pizza because we were just too tired to clean and cook.  Watched some tv, played some lotro and eve, then went off to bed.  I did a lot of things at work, rather than one thing for a long time, tomorrow i have quite a few long meetings, so it should be even less exciting.

Looking forward to the weekend. :)

That was fun...

Left work early to work more on the sidewalks.  I got at least the entrances to the walks cleared and the front and back steps, but the sidewalks themselves still have a lot of packed snow.

I also cleared the ice off the dish.  That was rough - i used a broom to get the snow off, but that made it worse, and I had no signal. So then I had to climb a big ladder, not just a stepladder, and bang it to get the ice off.

That worked, and we watched Almost Human and Sleepy Hollow.  The receiver reset itself during all that, so now it's got to redownload the guide.  Hopefully it does that before tomorrow, so it knows when to record shows!

It's still cold

Left for work, it was -1.  Came home, it was -3.  I didn't go out and shovel the little bit of snow we got yesterday, though I do need to go out and knock the snow off the satellite dish - some of the channels aren't coming in that great, and I need my Ancient Aliens fix! :)

Tivo 2

Well, the replacement works :)  Except that I have to wait 24 hours or so for it to reactivate, so all I could really do was watch live football - the Broncos for the most part.  Watched a little tv in the living room with dinner, but today was another lazy play on the computer keep warm day.

Not looking forward to going out in the cold to get to work tomorrow.  Supposed to warm up and be near normal by the weekend.  We'll see.

Tivo

I think the Tivo in the study has bitten the dust.  It won't get past the 'powering up' screen.  I think I should be able to swap it for the one upstairs that we deactivated.  I hope so!  I really liked taping my own shows in the study, and watching them while playing games.

Other than that, it was a quiet cold day - we stayed in the whole day.  Who wants to go outside when it's 3?

Supposed to warm up and snow tomorrow.  Warm up, as in '15'.  Amazing what we think 'warm' is  :)

Working from home

working from home has its advantages - fewer distractions, and no commute with the crazy drivers in the snow and ice.

a drawback is that i have to actually make my lunch, as opposed to just running across the street to a fast food joint.

I do have to head in to the office tomorrow, tho.  sigh.

Snow!

A bit here, maybe an inch, but up north up to a foot.  Good thing we didn't stay the weekend up there!

Of course it took me an hour to get home tonight (for a 20 minute drive), so that wasn't fun.

We watched a couple more Sleepy Hollow episodes tonight.  We're catching up!

Sleepy Hollow

Played DDO again this morning, and since she wasn't feeling well, we didn't go to the movies.  Instead, I played some EVE, surfed the web a little, and then around dinner time we watched 4 episodes of Sleepy Hollow.

I played LOTRO a little after that, but then it was pretty much bedtime and planning on going back to work tomorrow.  Joy.

Love days like these

Played DDO and Eve in the morning, did a little shopping in the afternoon (comic book store and grocery stores), watched some tv with Popeye's for dinner, then played LOTRO before bed.  Just a quiet day.

Of course it helped that the wife had to work, so I had most of the day to myself, but that's nitpicking :)

Brr it's cold

I think it got up to the mid-20's today, but the wind was blowing pretty well, making it feel like it was in the single digits.  That's cold, even without the snow!

Tomorrow we head up north to the casino - free night, so all we have to pay for is the buffet on T-day, and whatever money we want to gamble with.  I'll be taking a book :)

Winter is here

well, Winter weather is here anyway.  Cold, windy, some snow, a little ice.  Guess the relatively nice weather couldn't last forever.

Hope to visit a movie this weekend, but otherwise, we're going to hibernate :)

Time is like a rubber band

Time went so slow this morning.  It wasn't even 10, and it felt like 2.  Then the afternoon flew by.  What a weird day.

Quiet Weekend

Here, anyway.  No tornadoes, no hail, little rain.  We went to the movies yesterday, did some grocery shopping, and I played on the computer most of the day.

Just another 'downtime' weekend.  Next weekend should be too :)

Sick Day

well, not a whole day, but I did have to leave early because my stomach was just not behaving.  I laid on the couch and watched a bunch of 'cutthroat kitchen' episodes.  I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner. Firgured that was a fairly safe dinner.  We watched CSI after dinner - that was a weird episode (the one with the opposite of claustrophobia).

Afterwards, I played LOTRO and went ahead and ordered the expansion that comes out next week.  It includes Helm's Deep - that should be interesting to see how they represent the battles there!

Warmer today

More like fall,  Work went relatively quick today (of course it helped that half the day was in meetings).  Hopefully tomorrow will go just as fast.  It also helps that this was a short week.

Next week is a full week, then we have a really short week.  Now that that pressure is off from the UK project, I can start to feel a little less overloaded.

At least till the next big project comes along.

Well, Fudge...

The project for the UK had its plug pulled today.  So, all that work was pretty much for nothing (other than showing that I can do a good job under pressure).

What a waste of energy.  Really kind of depressing.

Coldest Day of the Season

...so far.  I spent the whole day inside, except for a quick trip to the store to get some groceries before dinner.  I get to go back to work tomorrow after a 4 day weekend.  Hopefully it was enough of a break to reduce my stress level a little bit.

We'll see.  Next long weekend is Thanksgiving, when we're going to the casino and the buffet again.  So much easier than cooking!  I'm really going to try and keep my stress level down between now and then.

Day off

Took the day off so I could have a 4 day weekend.  didn't do as much as I thought I would, but that's ok - that's what days off are for!

I did make a trip to the comic book store and pick up some new comics.  Other than that, I played on the computer, dozed, did a few dishes.  Tomorrow we have a lot of running around to do, and if we're up for it, we'll go see Thor.

Snow

Well, that pretty much makes it official - fall is over.  Not going to get much, and it's going to melt away shortly, but it's enough to make the ground white and remind us that more is on the way.

Where does the time go?

Rain

It rained today...which means snow can't be far behind.  I remember when we moved out here.  It was November, and it was 50 below.  At least we don't have that right now, but winter will be here soon.

I got my cavity filled, but I'm still dealing with the reaction to the anesthetic. So I won't be getting my wisdom tooth pulled for a bit.

Besides, T has to have some work done, too.  November seems to be the month of the dentist.

Hungry

Hate it when I get hungry late at night.  I know I can't eat before going to bed or I won't sleep.  Plus we don't have any munchy-type food anyway.

Grr. can't win for losing!

Finally

They finally fixed the computer problem at work - when this morning, all but 2 of my coworkers had the same problem.  I knew it wasn't me.  Maybe they'll listen next time (but I doubt it).

I'm hoping for a quiet weekend this weekend, go see a movie, catch up on some tv, cleanup a bit in the house - we need it.

Potluck

Prepping for a potluck in our tiny kitchen isn't fun.  I did it though, so tomorrow I'm taking 'bloody eyeballs'. :)

(turkey meatballs, stuffed with a black olive and poached, then nestled in some marinara sauce).

Oh, and they still haven't figured out my connection problem at work.  I can work from home, tho.  Which is beyond annoying.

Frustrating

For two days now, my work computer won't connect to the work network.  I've had to come home to work.  I certainly didn't change anything, but they can't figure it out.  I can connect remotely, but not actually at work.

That kind of puts a damper on the things I can do.  I've been really tired the last two days, too.  I doubt that's related though :)

Well, it's been fun

But it's time to go home.  It was good to hang out with the folks for a while, and see my sibs, but I'm very ready to be in my own house and my own bed.

I'm sure work is going to be just as intense, if not more so, but such is the price of fame :)

Almost done

One more day of all day meetings, and I'll have part of the weekend free.  Heading home Sunday night.  The time here has just flown by.  Which I guess is both good and bad.  Still, I'm ready to be home in my own house and bed.

Another long day at work, prepping this demo.  We actually got some work done, but have more to do.  AND I have a simultaneous meeting with other folks about the other project.  Don't know how I'm going to be split in two!

Snow

Well, not at home, but here in Denver.  I'm glad it did snow long, and I'm glad it didn't stick.  I'm not ready for snow.

I played LOTRO on and off during the day - Had lunch with almost the whole family, watched some tv, played some more LOTRO.  Basically, just a calm quiet day.

Tomorrow...that'll be a different story.

Welcome to Denver. Again.

The flight out wasn't that bad.  I paid extra to have extra leg room in the exit row, so I had a little more comfort.  I forgot how far the airport was from Mom and Dad's, though, so I'll have to remember that when I leave.

We had Chick-fil-a for dinner.  I had the nuggets this time, instead of my usual.  They weren't too bad!  We watched Minority Report after dinner, since there was pretty much nothing on tv.

Tomorrow's supposed to be rainy/snowy, so I'll probably just hang out.  Monday,,,,I hope won't be a long day, but I bet it will be a draining one!

Changing Seasons

Well, it's a sign the seasons are changing.  I had to turn on the furnace tonight when I got home tonight.

Another busy day

Rain in the morning, cleared off to have a nice sunny, but kinda cool day.  Busy at work, so I didn't get much in the way of distractions.

After work, helped the wife pack up her stuff for her trip to her mom's this weekend.  I'm going to pack my stuff Friday night.  Shouldn't take very long - I don't need 5 pairs of shoes, for example.

Watched a little tv after that and played LOTRO till bedtime.

Rainy Day

Rained most of the day today, which didn't matter to me much because I was pretty much chained to my desk.

A quick dinner of soup and crackers, a couple tv shows, a little bit of LOTRO, and bed.

I'm sensing a pattern :)

Grey Day

A lot of work today, kept me hopping. Plus we had several people out, so that made me pay closer attention to what was going on.

At least the tire thing was simple - apparently the sensors weren't registered with the car's computer.  They went out, did something, and 10 minutes later, it was all good.  So, at least that is done.  Tomorrow is going to be another busy day.  Probably going to be swamped all the way up to Friday.

At least I can't complain of being bored :)

Calm before the storm

Quiet day at home today.  I played DDO in the monring, helped with dishes and laundry, watched some tv, got the oil changed on the car, watched a little more tv, played LOTRO in the evening.

Tomorrow is a busy day at work, plus I have to leave early to get the tire sensor problem fixed.  Then it looks like I have to reschedule my cavity appt, and make my plane ticket and car rental reservations for my trip to denver.  All in one day.  Then the rest of the work is a set of hours long meetings, and getting everything ready for my trip.

I guess that's what they pay me the big bucks for!

Wicked was wicked

Got the tires changed today, but as we were coming home tonight, a warning light came on for the pressure system, so I have to take the car back after work on Monday.

Sigh.

Same old song and dance

and I don't dance all that great.  Working out the dates for my next work trip to Denver, figuring out when I can get the car worked on so she can go to Indiana.  Tomorrow, we're going to see Wicked downtown.  That will be fun.

Finally

Finally got a little support at work, so that I can focus on these two really super-duper-mega important projects, and get a little breathing room.

Doesn't help all the stuff I have to do at home, tho.  I have to get new tires for the car, and it looks like one of the fans in the computer case is dying.  Plus Directv wants to replace our ancient receivers, so I have to do that when they arrive.

But at least I can get some work done :)

Hope I'm not getting sick

Really tired and drained lately.  Work was ok, busy, but ok.  Didn't do much after work, being so tired.  We'll see if it gets better or worse.

Dentist

A cavity and I have to have another wisdom tooth removed.

But I got my cleanings moved from quarterly to every six months, so that's something.

Got some housework done

Played DDO in the morning, then did some housecleaning.  After lunch, I wasn't feeling that well, so I kind of vegged in front of the computer for a while.

We went out and did a quick grocery shopping trip, then had a small dinner since it was late.

I get to go to the dentist tomorrow.  Always a fun time there.

Not much of a day today

it rained and we stayed inside.  I played Eve for most of the morning, watched all three back to the future movies, and waited for updates about grandma.

We did do a little laundry, some dishes, watched a little tv.  Didn't do as much house work as I really wanted tho.  Well, maybe tomorrow.

Friday

Finally.  Work was rather rough - intense focus on updating the website for over 5 hours.  Now, though, I can spend the weekend not thinking about work!

Mmmmm. Grilled Cheese

That's what we had for dinner tonight.  After the storms last night, it just felt kind of right.  Watched a little tv, played a little on the computer. 

This weekend is a stay-at-home weekend, getting some cleaning done that we've been putting off, and probably catching up a little more on tv watching, so we don't run out of space :)

Ok day, but...

...rainy night.  Storms rolled through, causing at least one show not to record due to loss of signal.  This is one time that cable would win over satellite.

Work was a little calmer, but still covering for someone else.  I'm getting ready to start yet another new project, and haven't even finished the last two.  it's a little nuts!

The Saga Continues...

...I swear I need to retire soon.  I'm getting the most asinine questions at work, constantly hounded by people who should know better.  ugh.

We had pizza for dinner, watched a little tv, then I played LOTRO again.  At least there I can escape, if just for a little while.

Monday. Again.

Even though I was out of town for the weekend, and it felt like a mini-vacation, coming back was a bit tough.  Especially when one person is out due to a family emergency, probably for the whole week, and I get to pick up her slack with little to no prep.

After work, I tried cleaning up the living room a little, organizing a certain someone's magazines that she hasn't read in, oh, forever.  We watched Hawaii 5-0 after dinner, and I played a little LOTRO and EVE till bedtime.  Good distractions from the mess that is work.

Lack of Planning...

..on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.  A lot of people at work need to learn that phrase, and live by it.

Visited the dr today - amongst my different ailments, I apparently have dry eyes.  So now I have to learn how to put eyedrops in.  by myself.  I hate that.  I always miss!

SSDD

Really kind of sums it up.  I hate having to cover for other people's panic modes at work.  It gets old really fast.

Another fast day

it does help to be busy all the time - it makes the day go faster.

Although I'm tired at the end of the day, leaving little energy to get the stuff I need done around the house and yard.

Bleh.

Hard to believe

Monday's already come and gone.  I think it helped that I was busy at work today.

Maybe that's what my nephew needs - work.

That wasn't so awful

work was only 2.5 hours this morning.  Of course, it's going to be awesome hectic all week, and most of next.  In preparation of that...I played on the computer all day :)

(except for a couple-three breaks to do laundry and dishes).

Also, is it just me, or is that Hopper commercial just annoying as...heck?

Relatively stress free

Slept in (yay), went shopping in the afternoon, had some greek food for dinner, then went and saw Wizard of Oz on the IMAX screen.  When we got home, I played LOTRO for a while, before heading to bed.

I get to work tomorrow. Lucky me!

Friday

and payday - paid some bills after work.  Wish I could just pay them all off. C'mon powerball!

Tomorrow is errand day, and going to the movies, so it'll be a busy day.

One more day till the weekend

Here's hoping I can survive Friday.  Of course, I have to work Sunday, so it'll be a short weekend anyway.

Stop changing things!

Google messing with the menus I mean - it's getting harder to find/remember how to get where I want to go.

I don't even want to talk about work today.  I was so busy, I didn't have time to breathe.  Sometimes that's good, sometimes not.  Today was most definitely a not kind of day.

Tired and wiped out.

Another Monday come and gone

Work went like a rollercoaster today - busy then not then busy.  It was nice outside at lunchtime tho.  Supposed to warm back up again, unfortunately.

Watched the season premiere of Bones tonight - they'll probably drag this story line on all season long.  I'm over it.

Shopping day

Got some groceries today, played on the computer...and that was the extent of the weekend.

Next weekend will be busier!

Very Lazy Day

I played computer games today.  I cleaned up the kitchen a little, but mostly, I just sat in front of the computer all day.

I was kind of relaxing actually :)

Swamped day

all kinds of work to do, emails to get through, and then found out I have to go (get to go?) to Denver for a business trip at the end of the month.

At least it won't be raining by then (I hope!)

Slowly getting back to normal

Long drive on Monday made Tuesday rough.  Early morning meeting (that went for 4 hours) on Wednesday made that day rough.  Today was the first chance I got to catch up on emails at work, and begin to unpack and put stuff away from our trip.

Eventually, things will get back to normal.  Or what passes for normal :)

Wedding Day

Well, the wedding went off without a hitch.  The chapel was airconditioned, thank goodness and so was her house where we had the reception.

Now it's time to relax in the coolness of my parent's basement.  :)  Two more days till we go home, I get to go back to work, and back to being grumpy.

Action Packed Day

We had a BBQ, we had a tour of my sister's house, we watched a movie, I managed to get in some LOTRO time.  Love these kinds of vacation days - and I have a few more of them the rest of the week!

That was a long day

Drove from Avoca to Denver in 10 hours. And of course, while we're here, the temps at home drop to reasonable levels - perfect State Fair weather.

Tomorrow is family BBQ and maybe hunting for a small fan to use to cool off, since it's supposed to remain hot here.

I do not miss the heat. Not one bit.

today felt like Friday all day long.  Which was really kind of annoying :)

Another long day

this time including crawling around on the floor verifying server power connections.  Such is the life.

Fair part 2

Today was just ugly. Ugly hot and ugly humid.  Didn't really enjoy the outing to the state fair with work.  Only spent a couple hours there, so it was kind of a waste of ticket money, too.

Non-Eco

I had to turn off the Eco switch in the car.  Couldn't handle the a/c not running all the time.  When the car says it's 100 outside, I kinda need the a/c!

Recovery Day

Spent most of the day just doing stuff - played DDO in the morning.  Well, not so much played as rebuilt all my characters, since the expansion reset everything.  Then I installed the new hard drive (finally!), posted pictures from the fair, did some laundry, did some dishes, played DDO again off the new hard drive (much faster!), and installed Skyrim  Everyone else is playing it, I might as well too!\\

Starting to plan ahead for the coming weekend, and our trip out to Denver.  Thinking of the various things I need to take, things I need to do (haircut can probably wait till I get there), that sort of stuff.  This week is going to fly by, I'm sure!

12 hours

I think that's the longest we've ever spent at the state fair.  Didn't get to the concert part tho - no place to sit for blocks.  Should have sat down around noon, I guess.

State Fair Day tomorrow

I'm going to be sore and aching and full and hot and stressed.

At least I know what I'm doing to myself :)

Kind of a quiet day today

of which I will not complain about.  Also makes for a short blog entry :) Two more days till we visit the state fair tho - starting to get excited!

Earworms

hate 'em.  Get a song stuck in there, and it's never coming out.  Had one half the night and most of the day.  Finally faded away, but man.. that's annoying!

Still hot

it's supposed to cool down (that is, mid 80's) and then shoot back up again to 90 for Saturday.  of course.  Well, we bought tickets, so we are going.  We may just go twice in one day, or sit it out in the shade for a few hours, then wander again in the cooler part of the day.

Heating Up

Supposed to be over 90 for the next few days.  I hope it cools off by the weekend.  We're planning on visiting the State Fair on Saturday.

I'm trying to decide if I want to take pictures with my camera, or with my phone.  The camera takes slightly better pictures, but the phone is easier to carry.  The phone is easier to lose, too.

Decisions, decisions.  At least I don't (yet) have to worry about taking out my gallbladder! (sorry mom!)

Finished...

...at least with that little burst of cleanup. Reorganized most of the dvds, built the bookshelf, put all the cases on the shelves.  The cases you see here are nearly all full.  Almost time to buy another set!

Next project - installing a new games-dedicated hard drive in the computer.  Hopefully that won't be too awfully complicated.

Shopping day

Ran all over town today, but I got what I needed to finish off reorganizing the living room/dining room.  Got a bookshelf from IKEA that will let me put all the binders that hold all of our dvds, so they'll be out of the way.  Going to spend a good deal of time tomorrow re-sorting the dvds so they are grouped better, and a little easier to find when we want to watch a movie.

Mostly done

I'd say I got 80% of my list done today.  It didn't help that I sat at the dealership for almost 2 hours and they couldn't duplicate my problem.  Oh well, maybe it was all in my head.

Have to do a little shopping tomorrow to finish today's chore list, but then I can feel good about actually getting something done!

To-Do List

Anyone want to make bets on how much of my to-do list for tomorrow actually gets done?  I have plans to do stuff before I take the car to the dealer, and ideas for stuff to do afterwards - all of it related to housecleaning.

We'll see.  I'm not that optimistic :)

Dreams

I wonder why we have weird dreams sometimes.  last night I had a dream where I was in a whodunit kind of thing, with Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman.

I have no idea why.  Last thing I watched before going to bed was Chopped, and neither of them are on that!

Grammar Police

Sometimes I really feel like that.  Most people don't take the time to correctly phrase things any more, it feels like.

Not much happened today

reminds me of an episode of Babylon 5 :)  But today, it's true.  I went to work, came home, watched Iron Chef America, played on the computer for a while and went to bed.  Nothing newsworthy and/or exciting.

The Wolverine

Finally got to see this today.  I liked it, and I liked seeing some scenery and cities beyond just the normal 'big city america'.  I did stay through the credits, so got a little teaser for the next x-men movie coming next year.

Next movie on the list is Percy Jackson. Hope to see that this coming weekend.

Nope.

No movies at the theater.  Bought a couple on DVD, but someone couldn't get her schedule together, so we didn't do anything but grocery shopping, and a quick trip to Best Buy.

got the new dvr installed and running.  Will have to work on rebuilding the recording list, since a lot of our shows aren't on right now, and don't appear in the guide.

And we'll have to continue watching the shows off the old one, so we can deactivate it, and get rid of the buggy thing.

Monday again

The days are flying by.  It's crazy how the workday can take forever to end, but looking at the calendar shows the days moving so fast.

Recovery

The concert was a lot of fun, but today wasn't that great.  Spent most of the day feeling yucky - probably a combination of smoke, uncomfortable bed, and bad food.  When we got home, I spent the afternoon and a good chunk of the evening dozing on the couch.

Hope I feel better tomorrow!

Looking forward to the weekend

we're going to see Weird Al and staying the night at the casino.  So tomorrow is cleaning up the house so we don't have housework to come home to, packing for saturday then a mini vacation (yeah, it's one day, but away from home counts).

So, don't expect me to post for a few days.  Of course, if I win the Powerball, I may never post again - I'll be too busy celebrating :)

One of those days

Annoyed

Annoyed with the DVR locking up all the time, so I ordered a new one.  Fortunately, it's been over 2 years since the last upgrade, so it was free.  Free shipping, free installation (well, self installation, but how hard can hooking up wires be?) no taxes, etc.

The only catch - have to stay with DirecTV another 2 years.  I can live with that restriction.

Monday

Never did like Mondays much.  Today was no different.

I did figure out I'm allergic to Triple Flex.  I'll have to figure out something else for my knee.

Laundry Day

That's about all we did today - tried out the new washing machine.  It's bigger than the old one, so we can actually wash full loads, rather than splitting into smaller ones.

Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.  I'm getting kind of burnt out. :(

Headaches are annoying

They don't really go away, at least on days like this.  They just kind of subside, build up steam and come back and smack you when you're not expecting it.

Tired

woke up with a neckache which turned into a headache.  It was along day at work.  not too slow, but long.  I'm very drained tonight.  I probably didn't sleep well last night, but I don't remember any problems, other than waking up with the aching neck.

I need a vacation - a sleep in, get up whenever i want kind of vacation.

Upgrades two

I fixed my tv viewing problem by buying an updated gadget that connects the computer to the vcr.  Now I can watch all my cooking shows while I game :)

Upgrades

Well some of my computer upgrades are working ok - the memory and vid card seem to be working just fine, except I can't watch tv anymore.  I don't know if the gadget is incompatible with the new card or what.  I have some investigation to do!

Expensive afternoon

We visited Home Depot and bought our replacement washer.  It'll be here Saturday.  At least we could put it on 6 months with no interest, so we can pay it off quickly.

It was still more than I wanted to pay, tho.

Did you know...

....men can have hot flashes too?  I had two today.  That wasn't exactly fun.  I did finally get all the saplings cut down this morning tho, so that was something!

Disappointed

Went to dinner after work - steak was over cooked and potatoes were undercooked, almost but not quite raw.

I won't be going back there.  I'm sure there are a lot better places to go, so no big loss.

Slowly but surely

I'm getting the saplings cut down behind the garage.  The heat doesn't let me do much though without melting.  Maybe this weekend, when it's supposed to be cooler, I can get more done!

Pitch Perfect

watched this tonight - it was actually a pretty good movie.  Predictable ending, but the story was relatively cohesive, and the singing talent was pretty impressive.

Probably one we'll buy on dvd so we can re-watch it.

But it's a dry heat

yeah, well not here.  90 degrees, 50% humidity.  Bought some ice cubes, and between the store and the house, it had already partially melted.

Even my semi-working car air conditioner is blowing cool air for a change.  And people in the office are complaining when it's 75, saying it's freezing in there.

Maybe they should move their desks outside!

That stinks

The washer died tonight.  Now we have to find a laundromat until we get a new one delivered and installed.  Which could be who knows how long.

More Shopping

Went to the computer store today, looking for some components to upgrade my computer.  I've been thinking I would use the money i've been saving to just upgrade parts, rather than getting a whole new computer.  I realized when i was there that i didn't know certain things that i needed in order to buy some of the parts!

So the only thing I got was a replacement for the study cam.  maybe next weekend i'll take a notebook with me!

Groceries

Went grocery shopping today.  We bought pretty much essentials - stuff to replenish the pantry.  Got a couple of meats on sale at wal-mart, but otherwise just 'stuff'.

It was a rather expensive trip. :(

So here's a question...

Did gas prices go up forty cents today because some speculators said gas prices were going to go up?  Seems to me every time 'they' predict a rise in prices, prices rise.

National Treasure

After rewatching the movie, sometimes I wonder if there was some kind of treasure long ago.  Not really the way the movie depicted it, but what did happen to the ark of the covenant, or the other things under Solomon's temple?  Are they still buried in the desert somewhere?  Did they even exist?  Was it all aliens?

Who knows...but I do wonder about it.

Long days again

I'd forgotten how much 'fun' it was working 11-12 hour days.  At least this day was broken up by having a company sponsored cookout in the middle.

Still, tired as a dog tonight!

Vintage TV

I think I know why old tv shows never showed the spouses in bed together.  It's because they slept in separate beds and/or rooms because the other spouse snored.

Which is why I slept on the couch last night.  Simpler than being woken up every so often because my snoring was keeping her awake.

What a day

Spent all day in a conference room training the project manager on our systems.  That wasn't fun.

Plus my back hurt in a couple places all day, and now my eyes are giving me fits.  I swear, if this body had a warranty, it's long since expired.

Yuck

Now I remember why I stayed in the house all weekend.  Even a quick trip to the grocery store and the pharmacy was draining.

Forget doing yard work or running other errands.  I'm staying indoors as long as I can.

Walter

Out of all of Jeff Dunham's characters, I think I like Walter the best.  Watched three of his specials today, and although Peanut is funny, Walter definitely takes the cake.

I'm glad we went to see him last year - probably a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Day off

It was kind of nice having the day off, even if I didn't get done anything I really wanted to.  Too hot to work out in the yard, so I did several loads of laundry, and my knee complained.

Got asked that today when buying a small package of fireworks for tomorrow, at Target no less.  I guess they wanted to make sure I was a responsible adult.

I guess.  I mean, they just click through the request for id when I get nyquil, but I have to actually have my drivers license scanned when I buy fireworks.

Pain

It's not fun.  Peripheral neuropathy is really my own fault from the diabetes, I guess, but it's still not fun.  Add that to the pain in my knee that's working on coming back, and I'm just kind of a wreck some days.

Birdsong

As I was going to the garage to go to work this morning, I could hear the cardinals in the trees and on the wires singing, and it struck me that I don't get to sit on the porch (because I don't really have one) and listen to the birds while I drink my morning coffee (since I don't drink coffee).

Maybe this weekend I'll get up earlier than normal, pull out a lawn chair and sit in front of the garage and listen to the birds sing.

Conspiracies

I've been watching a set of dvds of a show from the History Channel about conspiracies.  Jack Ruby, RFK Assassination, Diana's Death, all kinds of topics.  It's amazing what people can see in some simple events.

Of course, I believe there are always possibilities of strange, unexplained things, like UFOs for example, but I also think that a paraphrase of the old saying is true:  Never attribute to conspiracy what can be attributed to malice or stupidity.

Ceremonies

Went to a wedding today.  I got to wondering if 'normal' people think about the facts behind the various ceremonies we have in our daily lives - where certain rituals come from, why certain events are performed in a certain way.

Probably not.  It's probably just me thinking in strange ways.

Losing Money

I don't know how Barnes and Noble can be losing money, considering the significant percentage of my paycheck they get every week!

Even with coupons and member discounts, we spend bunches of money there.  They should be rolling in the dough!

Smells

Is there anything worse than the smell of burnt popcorn.  I don't know why people haven't figured out when to shut of the microwave.

On the other hand, is there any better smell than fresh baked bread?  Well, maybe bacon frying :)

The Weather

...everybody complains about it, but nobody does anything about it.  It's been hot and humid here lately, neither of which I like.  I would move to Indiana or Florida, or someplace like that.  I know there's not much we humans can do about it, with it being cyclical and all, but this human is going to complain about it.

30 years and 150 pounds ago it probably wouldn't have bothered me so much.  I spent time in San Antonio and Biloxi, so I know what it's like (or vaguely remember anyway!), but I'm not that same person anymore.  At least the A/C in the house works.  I think I'm going to have to take my car in for an a/c recharge though - it's not cold anymore, just cool.

One thing I won't usually do is complain about how cold it is.  I can always put more clothes on - there's a limit to how many clothes I can take off!

Rules

Ever wonder if there's anyone left on the road that actually follows the rules of the road?  Speed, use of turn signals, following posted signs?

I had that thought today on the way to work.  I don't get what's so hard about following the rules.

Frustrating day

Quiet Sunday

Played DDO and Eve in the morning, then we did some laundry and I played LOTRO.  We watched an episode of The Glades during dinner, but other than that, we just hung around the house.

Another Stormy Night

but even getting up at 8 I couldn't go back to sleep.  I played Eve until she got home from work, since it was raining part of the morning, and I really don't like to do yardwork in the rain.

We ran some errands this afternoon - mostly clothes shopping for her, though we did stop by work and pick up a table they were going to throw away.  perfectly good table.  Now I just need to find a place to use it.  I'm thinking in the garage as a good utility table.

When we got home, she napped on the couch and I played LOTRO for the rest of the night.  My hobbit is wandering the halls of Moria - a very cool place (with the exception of some mega bugs!)

Dark and Stormy Night

Last night we got some hefty thunderstorms that blew through about 330 or so.  Lots of lightning, thunder, wind, rain, hail, fun stuff.  We didn't lose power, but I did lose sleep.  The noise was pretty loud.  I left work early so I could rest - hard to work only a half night's sleep.

Had leftover pizza and after dinner, I played LOTRO and caught up more tv shows.  We had storms again after dark, but before bed, so maybe I'll get some sleep.

If the yard isn't flooded, I'm going to do a little yard work in the morning before it gets hot.

Thursday

Another busy day at work.  I was pretty tired at the end of the day.  We ordered pizza for dinner, because both of us were too tired to cook.

I played LOTRO and caught up on some of my shows - chopped and restauarant impossible.

Tomorrow's going to be another busy day, I think. 

Tired

Long meeting in the morning, trying to remember what I was thinking 5 years ago on a project that was postponed.  Went to lunch with a friend, so that was a nice break, then back to work with more meetings, more document searching, more numbers analysis.

We had BLTs for dinner (well, BMT's really - bacon, mayo, tomato), watched last night's Deadliest Catch.  Don't know if I'll play LOTRO before going to bed tonight or not.  Playing isn't much fun when you're tired.

Just another day

Another Tuesday.  Worked from home today - got some stuff done, not as much as I probably should have though.  I'm just more effective at work.

Started work on cleaning out the kitchen cupboards and started work on the wife getting rid of, or at least better organizing her shoes.  We watched the last episode of Golden Boy.

After that I surfed a little and played a little LOTRO again before bed.

Monday

Most of the construction at work was done before I even got there.  A little bit of hammering, but nothing terrible.  Tomorrow however, painting.  That is worth working from home for, so I will.

Tonight we watched another episode of Golden Boy - one left till the end of the series.  I surfed a little bit and played a little LOTRO before bed.  Tomorrow I don't have a commute, but that only saves me about 20 minutes.  Maybe I'll get some more work done when there's nobody around to come up to my desk and ask me questions!

Rainy, windy day

Played LOTRO and Eve in the morning, and finished off Enterprise.  In the afternoon, we went to the comic book store, went and saw Man of Steel in Imax 3D, and then went to the new Popeye's chicken just two blocks from our house - they were really busy!

While we were out and about there were more storms.  We didn't lose any trees or power thankfully.

Tomorrow, they'll be working on expanding the conference room.  Many people will work from home, but I'll just put on my headphones, and maybe get some work done :)

Saturday

Took the Element in to be worked on, and ran errands while they worked on it.  Bought a new webcam to replace the backyard one that isn't working.  Bought some dvds at Barnes and Noble, she bought some clothes for a wedding we have coming up.  It rained pretty good this afternoon, almost 2 inches.  Lots of local flooding - someone even took a canoe into the streets.

Thankfully the repairs to the car didn't cost an awful lot.  We still have to get new tires, but that can wait a couple months.

Tomorrow is going to be a quiet day.  The only thing I want to do is see the new Superman movie.

Friday

Finally.  Got a lot of work done today, and took it easy after getting home.  We had leftovers, and watched Golden Boy.  After that I played LOTRO, watched a couple episodes of Enterprise, one of Restaurant Stakeout, and two Storage Wars.

Tomorrow we take the Element to the dealer to get it fixed up.  That's a daunting prospect.  Hope it doesn't cost too much.

Sunshine

We had plenty today - which caused the cottonwoods to send their stuff everywhere.  Looked like snow on the ground in places.

Another long day at work, although I wasn't locked in a conference room.  We watched a Deadliest Catch during dinner.  I played LOTRO after that.

Not much excitement here - hard to get excited when tired!

Wednesday

Another long conference room day.  We had thunderstorms today, which kept the temps down.

After work we watched some tv, had sandwiches, and I played LOTRO and watched Enterprise.

Tomorrow at least I don't have another long day in the conference room.

Tuesday

Well, it didn't get to 84 (nor 100), so that's a good thing.  Not that it mattered, as I was in a conference room all day today.

We had a quick dinner watched the rest of River Monsters and the finale of Iron Chef America Tournament of Champions, then I played LOTRO till bed.

I have another all day meeting tomorrow.  Then I get a break and just have regular work to do.

Monday

One long meeting day, but was pretty productive.  After work, we watched another Iron Chef episode, did some laundry, and played LOTRO.  I also watched an episode of Restaurant Impossible and a couple of Star Trek Enterprise.

Supposed to be 85 tomorrow.  Not looking forward to that.

Sunday

Rainy day, so we didn't do much.  I played Eve in the morning, then we went grocery shopping at Trader Joe's and Walmart.  We should be good for food for a while.

That took up most of the afternoon.  Afterwards, I surfed for a little bit, then played LOTRO.

Tomorrow is the start of another set of all day meetings.  Well, I guess this is why they pay me the big bucks :)

Saturday

Pretty much a do-nothing day.  I played LOTRO for a good part of the day.  We did some laundry and dishes, watched some tv - caught up on Bones among other things.

Tomorrow going to do some more laundry, get some grocery shopping in, some more tv watching I imagine, and just try to relax a bit more.

Friday

Not much to update - lost internet yesterday so it was a quiet night.  Work today was pretty productive.  After work, we went to Barnes & Noble, and picked up a book or two and a couple movies.  After we picked up White Castle for dinner (which I now regret) we watched an episode of Elementary and an episode of River Monsters.

After that, I played a little LOTRO and headed to bed.  Lots of housework to do tomorrow.  Joy.  :)

Twofer

I was just too tired to post an update last night, so tonight is a twoferone special.  Yesterday at work I spent a big part of the day catching up on emails.  We had a simple supper and watched the season finale of the Duggars, and an episode of CSI.

Today was several meetings, more emails, and back to work on some documentation.  A relatively productive day.  I put some of the trip stuff away when I got home, and we had pasta and tomatoes for dinner.  We watched an episode of Trisha's Southern Kitchen and the season finale of CSI - a cliffhanger of course.

Our dvr is working on finding several repeats of the shows we missed when it froze up, so eventually we'll get caught up, although we'll have to look the order up on line, so we don't watch them out of order!

Home

Finally.  The drive wasn't too bad.  We stopped in Wisconsin for dinner, and made it home by 930-ish.  We didn't unpack much.  saving that for tomorrow.

Did find that the DVR locked up at some point, and we're having trouble restarting it.  I wish things would just work.

Tomorrow is back to work day.  Have no idea how badly things have stacked up waiting for my return - hopefully not much!

Reunion

The reunion went pretty well, I guess - over 50 people showed, and they raised almost $250 with the auction to go towards next year's reunion.

After we got back, I took a nap for a while, letting my cold (or whatever it is) get worse.  After a while, I got up and worked on genealogy a bit, and then played LOTRO a little bit before going to bed.  I pre-packed as much as I could so we're not spending all morning doing it.

I'd be looking forward to going home to my own bed more if I wasn't feeling so cruddy.

Saturday

Very busy day today - went to the Graduation, which was much shorter (and cooler) than the last one we attended here.  Then we headed off to the family graduation party.  After the graduate departed, we hung around and chatted some more - I kind of zoned out as I woke up with a sore throat and a painful cough.  I really don't want to get sick :(

We went to the funeral home, and while the family visited I went to CVS and got some cough drops to help with this cough.

After that, we went to dinner, the wife, her sisters, her mother, and one of the nephews.  I took a 'dad-like' photo :)

We came back to the hotel and she talked to a friend for a while while I surfed the web and then I played LOTRO for a bit.

Friday

Went shopping today - got some new clothes for both of us, but not new shoes for me (though we did look).  Stopped by Barnes & Noble, picked up a couple dvds since they were on sale.  Saw After Earth - it was ok.  I don't think I would have paid to see it on the ultrascreen, though.

We came back to the hotel, had a snack instead of dinner, watched some of the tornado news, and I played LOTRO till bedtime.

Tomorrow will be a very busy day.

Thursday

Slept in today, did some laundry, then we took the mother-in-law to get her biopsy results - they were inconclusive, which means more tests in a couple weeks.

After that we hung out at sister-in-law's for a while, went to Long John Silver's for dinner, Dairy Castle for dessert so I could get my Peanut Butter Malt (extra malt).

After which we finished the laundry and played a board game.  We watched some of the weather - severe storms coming in tonight, and I played LOTRO for a little.

Tomorrow we spend the day alone - we're going to the movies probably, and maybe find me some clothes I can wear to graduation on Saturday.  Saturday is graduation, and visitation for her uncle that died yesterday.

Wednesday

Didn't do much today.  Hung out for almost the entire day at the mother-in-law's.  We did play a card game for a little while, some of us anyway, but for the most part it was a 'sit around and do nothing day'.

Kinda boring, actually :)

Anniversary

19 years - hard to imagine.  Of course, 50 is even harder :)

We drove to French Lick via US 231, so we got to see some countryside.  We spent a few hours at the casino, losing about as much as we would have at home.  We drove back on highway 37, and stopped in Bloomington for dinner at Cracker Barrel.

That was the bulk of our day - a long country drive, a casino visit, and back to try and find something on TV to watch :)

Memorial Day

We had the cookout today - hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, and fried morels.  Well, I didn't have any, but the rest of the family went nuts over them.  Everybody doted on the new baby (well, he's one now, but still a baby).

We came back to mother-in-law's for a while after, had sandwiches and peach cobbler for dinner, then came back to the hotel, where once again I armwrestled with the computer to play my game.  I finally long, but it took longer to log in than it did to do the festival stuff.

Tomorrow we're taking a scenic drive to French Lick.

Double Header

Not much to blog about for Saturday - we drove in the rain for what seemed like forever.  It was really only about 10 hours.  We checked in, I fussed with the computer to try and play LOTRO, and that was the day!

Today, we slept in till noon.  We went to breakfast at the truckstop with the mom-in-law, then over to the sister-in-law's for a while.  We went to Walmart to do some grocery shopping, and to get some things for us - like a replacement hairbrush that I must have left in Avoca, things like that.

Tomorrow is a cookout back the sister-in-laws.  Not sure what we'll do tomorrow night.  Maybe just hang out.

That's the nice thing about being on vacation :)

Friday

Today went pretty fast, helped by the fact that my boss let me leave about 3 hours early.  I did some of the prep work - feed the birds, started laundry, etc.  Then we went to the comic book store and the book store, grabbed a bite at McDs and then came home and did more laundry.

I packed a little, but we're going to be doing a lot more packing in the morning before we go.  Hopefully we can leave at a halfway decent time!

Dentist

Work went pretty fast today, considering I spent a half day off.  Mostly that was for a trip to the dentist, but that was downtown, so there was some travel time to work involved too.

After work we went to see the new Star Trek movie.  I didn't care for it much.

After we got home, I played LOTRO for a little bit before bed.

Quiet Day

Relatively quiet day at work - at least no sudden emergencies.

when i got home I did another load of laundry, finished the dvd gifts, transferred some videos over to my phone to watch, copied some songs to and from the usb stick for the car for our trip.  I had some more leftovers for dinner, then played in the LOTRO spring festival till dinner.

Tomorrow I get to go to the dentist.  Woo hoo!

Tuesday

Another long day at work.  Left about 7.  Came home, did a load of laundry, had leftover chinese and played lotro till bedtime.

Looking forward to next week when I can recharge my batteries.

Ketchup

Either way, that's what today was at work.  Some of it spilled over to after dinner, but not too much, thankfully.

We watched Person of Interest and Hawaii 5-0 while we had Chinese delivered for dinner.  I burned off a few DVDs for our trip next week, and worked on the cover inserts as well.  Since these are a gift, I want them to be relatively nice looking :)

I played a little LOTRO too, but not much, as my free time vanished pretty quickly!

Home for a blink of an eye

Made it home today - missed all the exciting weather, which was just fine by me :)  I drove all but the last 100 miles or so.  We didn't do much after we got home.  checked the mail, snacked a little.  She watched Deadliest Catch, I watched Wicked Tuna.  I played LOTRO for a while, since I could, and then started thinking about work.

Only working 5 days this week.  Then off for a while.  I plan on thinking about not working about Tuesday :)

Saturday Already

Hard to believe.  Heading home tomorrow for another fun filled week of work and getting ready for another trip.

Tired tonight though.  Had fun hanging out with my sister at the casino, but i've run out of energy!

Friday

Spent the morning catching up on stuff I couldn't do remotely.  I even had people lined up at my desk to talk to me.

Spent the afternoon driving to Grandma's.  Construction and weather made the trip longer than usual.  We had dinner at the truckstop across from the motel.  It was something to eat, but wasn't that good.

Afterwards, we came back and rested.  Put Triple D on in the background while she slept and I tried to get into my game.  It kept timing out over the wifi.  Don't know if this'll happen when we go to Indiana next week.  Hope not.  Maybe I'll use the cellular doohickey when we go instead.

Tomorrow we get to visit my grandma - I enjoy those visits, even though they're necessarily short because she tires so easily anymore.

Home. For a bit.

Worked right up till time to go to the airport.  Flight was ok, but full. no breathing room.

We had some burritos for dinner, watched a couple of 19 kids and counting, got stuff together to pack for tomorrow.

Tomorrow it's work right up till time to leave for the Iowa trip.  I'm hoping I get to sleep in a little bit on Saturday :)

Work "week"

As of 1130 tonight, I had put in 41 hours this week.  Still have a day and a half to go.

On the plus side, I won't have to take vacation time Friday afternoon to go to Grandma's!

Well, that's one way to put today.  Another 13 hour day.  It'll all be over soon.  At least this portion of it.

Once more unto the breach

Back into the 12 hour work days  Only 2 more to go this week.  I get to go home on Thursday, so I can do laundry and pack to leave for Grandma's on Friday.

We had a fairly productive day, at least.  Here's hoping the next few are the same.

After I got back to the hotel, I tried to update my game (there was an update released today).  I had to download something from Microsoft before I could run the updater.  It hadn't finished updating after over an hour, so I'm guessing no gaming tonight!

Happy Mother's Day

Spent part of the evening at mom and dad's, had a quick dinner and chatted for a while.

Then I came back to the hotel, got my clothes unpacked, watched most of Clash of the Titans and tried to get my game to connect over the hotel's wireless.  Didn't have much luck.

Odd that work stuff can connect just fine, but the game couldn't.  Maybe it was a sign :)

Ugh

Spent all day with a headache.

I did copy a couple of tivo'd shows over to my phone so I could watch them om the plane tomorrow.  I didn't do much today. Laundry, a little LOTRO, then we went to the movies and saw Iron Man 3.  I liked it.  The extra ending after the credits was pretty good too.

I've got both laptops packed for this trip, so I can play after work, assuming I'm not too tired.

or that I get rid of this stinkin headache.

Home.. for now

Made it home by 530 or so, then we ran out and picked up a few things at the comic book store and the book store, since we hadn't been in a while.

We stopped by Chili's for dinner, then came home and watched Hawaii 5-0.  I paid a few bills that are coming due next week since I won't be here, and that was about it.

Going to be busy tomorrow that's for sure!

I get to go home tomorrow...so I can do some laundry, repack my clothes and come back to Denver on Sunday.  Monday through Thursday another set of marathon meetings, and then back home to quickly pack again so we can visit Grandma and family in Iowa.

Then I get a week of work at home before we head off to Indiana for a week.

Whew!

Who'da thunk?

Sitting in a room for 12 and half hours could be so tiring?  I'm mentally exhausted.

After working for that long at the office, I came back to the hotel and worked for another hour and a half, catching up on the 'urgent' things I couldn't do during our working session.

Got another one tomorrow, hopefully not quite as long.

And I wish it would stop raining.  I'm tired of getting wet going to the tank...err, rental.  They gave me a Yukon.  The thing is huge.

Well, that was a surprise

In the middle of a very long conference call, my director asks if I can come to Denver to finish these meetings in person.

It was really weird to be able to hop on a plan, rent a car, and drop in a hotel, all with only 5 hours notice.  I guess it helps to have a corporate credit card  :)

But here I am in Denver.  Won't be able to see family or friends, as the meetings are running 8am to 8 or 9 pm, and I fly back Friday.

Maybe next time.

It was nice out today

Of course, I was inside, so I couldn't enjoy it.  Kind of a slow day at work, for a change.

We had leftovers for dinner, I played LOTRO till bed.  The end.

Laundry Day

That was about it for today.  Played DDO for a little in the morning, then played LOTRO most of the day, in between batches of laundry.

Tomorrow it's back to work.

Pretty much as planned

Dealership to get the work done.  Shopping to the book store and the grocery store.  The only thing I didn't plan on was my knee hurting so much.

I ended up taking a painkiller, and used an ice pack while we watched Elementary, Person of Interest, and Chopped All Stars.

After that I played LOTRO for a while, watched Restaurant Impossible and a couple of old Iron Chefs.

Then went to bed.  Not sure if tomorrow is stay at home and do laundry, or head out to the movies.  Guess we'll see!

Friday

Started the day with snow - it snowed probably half the day, then switched to rain.  We had a potluck at work for Cinqo de Mayo, and I ALMOST got to go to Lincoln to do a demo.  At noon I was going, by 430 I wasn't.  I had to cancel my hotel reservation I had made during that time. 

After work, I went and had dinner with a friend.  Because I had that Mexican food for lunch, I went simple with tomato soup and grilled cheese.  We talked for over 3 hours, closing the place down.

I played Eve and watched Restaurant Stakeout before heading to bed.  Tomorrow is the dealership in the morning, and then...probably some shopping in the afternoon.

Snow

it missed our house - east side of town, and south got quite a bit.  15 inches in some places.  It was weird to drive into work and see 4 inches of snow on the ground, when there wasn't nothing when I left.

Work was another stressful day.  I was glad to get home.  We were going to go to the movies, but decided against it since today was the day Iron Man came out (I thought it was going to be tomorrow).

We watched CSI and pretty much called it a night.

Tired

Tired of snow.  Tired of stress going on at work.  Tired of not having time to clean up the house the way I want.

I need to win the powerball so I can retire and then have time to work on the house and the yard.  While I still can, at least.

Welcome to Tuesday

Work was crazy, running around answering questions, helping people.  I did get to do a little of my own work.

We had chinese delivered for dinner and watched Lost Girl and Hawaii 5-0.  Then I played LOTRO and watched another episode of Enterprise before bed.

Supposed to cool off again, back in the 40's.  3 days of 70+ and now some places are going to get snow again.  What a messed up weather system.

Monday

Very busy day today at work.  After I got home, we fed the birds, and I played some lotro.  I also watched a few episodes of Season 4 of Enterprise.

I also scheduled the car for maintenance - it's hard to believe I've already put 30,000 miles on it.  Next weekend we'll take the other one in for maintenance.  I suspect the bill will be bigger next time.

Sunday

Pretty much a hang around the house day - laundry, dishes, gaming, we did watch a little tv, but we didn't go anywhere, or do anything exciting.

the a/c worked well almost all day.  it got up to almost 80 outside, and it kept the house right around 75.  very nice :)

Again with the headache

This is annoying.  It eventually went away with Tylenol, but that caused stomach problems later, and the tripleberry shake at Arby's probably didn't help either.

We got most of our shopping done, though I'm still looking for a cd player/radio for the bedroom.  And some headphones for the living room that don't cost 300 bucks.

We also got to test out the a/c today.  It was warm enough to kick on.  Weird to go from needing a heater to an a/c in the same week.

Friday

Another stressful, fix it now, day at work.

Since we carpooled this morning, I picked up the wife and we went to MOA to do some shopping  We didn't get everything, because we started late.

but we had a good start. tomorrow, I'm sleeping in.

Thursday

Busy day at work - got called in to help on another priority project. well, more like consult.  hope they found my info useful.

We had leftovers for dinner, watched Chef Wanted and Orphan Black.  After that I played Eve for a little bit, watched a couple of Storage Wars and called it a night.  Still pretty tired, even after going to bed really early yesterday.

I wish I had a job where I could take a nap in the middle of the day. That might let me last longer :)

Not much to say tonight

quick day at work, catching up and then having a company meeting in the afternoon.

Watched a little tv during/after dinner, played lotro for a little bit, but then went to bed tired.  maybe tomorrow will be a more active day.

Sick Day

Woke up with a headache (again).  Probably because I laid in one position all night, and got a crick in my neck.  While I was in the shower I got really lightheaded, dizzy, and nauseous, so I called in and except for one conference call, didn't work.  Checked emails every so often, but that was it.  Didn't really eat anything till dinner.

Most of our snow is gone now, by the way.

During dinner we watched last week's Golden Boy and tonight's episode of 19 kids and counting.  Tomorrow is going to be a busy day catching up on two day's of missed work.  Not looking forward to it!

Earth Day

The junk guys finally came around 3:30.  Up until then I just watched Enterprise and played Eve.  Shortly after they left, it started snowing.

Watched some tv after dinner, and tried to make sure some of our shows recorded, although the dish was acting up because the snow was so heavy.  Hopefully they recorded ok.

I get to go back to work tomorrow.  woo hoo.

Sunday

Played DDO in the morning with a new guildmate, then ran our errands.  Lots of groceries - we're stocked for the week now :)

After we got home, I played Eve for a bit, and just nibbled.  We had a late lunch at Noodles, so I really wasn't that hungry.

After a while for playing Eve, I switched to LOTRO and played that till bedtime.  I'm not working tomorrow, I'm meeting the junk guys to get rid of some stuff in the garage, and in the basement.  A small amount of spring cleaning, even though it still doesn't feel like spring outside.

Lazy Day

Didn't run errands today.  Just hung around the house. Played LOTRO most of the day, watched some stuff on TV - My Cousin Vinny, Raiders, Temple of Doom

Didn't have dinner - I think the pizza bothered me too much.  We'll run our errands tomorrow.  We don't have much to do at least.

Mixed Day

Snow, sun, snow.. weather couldn't figure out what to do.

We had pizza for dinner, I surfed the web for a while, then played LOTRO and watched Enterprise for a while.

I think tomorrow we'll do some of our shopping, and just relax on sunday.

Yuck

Rained, sleeted, and snowed today.  Was still snowing at bedtime.

I'm soooo tired of this.

No More Sun

Today was a grey day, and it started raining towards night.  It'll turn to snow before long.  Again.

Actually, today was kind of a grey day anyway.  I had a hard time waking up, so most of work was kind of hazy.

LOTRO is having it's 6th anniversary, and a bunch of activities in game - every day for two weeks, so I'll be switching between all my different characters, doing all the stuff like delivering gifts, picking up scattered envelopes, etc.  Passes the time, and I don't have to think too much.  Good thing when your brain is fuzzy :)

Sunny Day

Surprisingly, the sun came out for a good part of the day.  We might have even hit 50.

Work went by pretty fast.  Got home, and found my passport waiting for me.  I can now officially leave the United States.  It'll come in handy next year for sure - that's when we take our anniversary trip east, going up through Canada.

Watched Chopped All Stars and Hawaii 5-0 , and a little bit of Fifth Element after dinner.  A quiet night overall.  The best kind.

Sad Day

Work was ok. Nothing really exciting - cleaning up somethings before the next big project comes my way.  The day had a downer end to it, with the happenings in Boston.

We just had leftovers for dinner.  I read the news a bit about the incident, and when it became clear that nobody really knew much of anything yet, I played LOTRO till bedtime.  An escape from a terribly messed up real world.

Called It

Spent most of the day playing on the computer.  Interrupted that a couple of times for laundry, and of course dinner.

We had meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and a salad for dinner.  We watched some of our shows during dinner, including another episode of Vikings.

After that I played on the computer till bedtime.  Thought about going out a couple times, but every time I looked out, it was either sleeting or snowing, so I changed my mind really quickly.

Saturday

Played some Eve and DDO in the morning, then we went shopping.
Hit the comic book store,
barnes and noble
smashburger for supper
target for groceries.

Then we came home and I played a little LOTRO and she read her book.  tomorrow is supposed to be a yucky weather day, so we may just stay inside instead of finishing the shopping we didn't get done today.  We'll see what happens.

Friday

Got two things done today, checked off my to-do list.  We got the furnace installed this morning (the guy came at 715 - made for an early start to the day!) and I filed our taxes.

Beyond that, it was a pretty normal day.  We watched a little tv, I played a little LOTRO, and went off to bed.  We're going to do a little shopping tomorrow, but I'm hoping for a quiet weekend - some gaming, some tv, some laundry...nothing really exciting.

I cheated

I worked from home today, so I ended up not shoveling, snowblowing OR treading lightly.  We got about 5 inches of wet heavy stuff, on top of the rain sleet during the night, so I just stayed away from the traffic.  I got about as much work done remotely as I did in the office, so it wasn't really a waste.

We ordered chinese for dinner, watched a couple episodes of 19 kids and counting, and yesterday's CSI.  I played LOTRO for a little bit, but that was about it.  Tired at the end of the day.

Tomorrow the furnace people come to give us a new furnace.  yay.

Wednesday

Spent a good portion of the day writing some SQL code and learning as I went (a programmer, I am not).  Got it in good shape to recreate a data extract from 2009, I think - it just needs to be QC'd now.

Waited for the snowstorm to come.  As of bedtime, it hasn't gotten here yet.  Supposed to get 4-10 inches of snow out of it.  I'm hoping it's closer to 1.

We had leftover chili for dinner, and while she watched River Monsters, I played LOTRO and watched another episode of Enterprise.

Well, we'll see what the morning brings in terms of snow - will I have to run the snowblower, the shovel, or just step lightly?

Tuesday, back problem day

Stayed home with back problems again.  Did do some work emails, but mostly was sitting on the heating pad or ice pack all day.

Did watch Iron Chef America and an old movie I recorded last year on Syfy channel about Dungeons and Dragons.

We had some pasta and alfredo sauce for dinner, and watched an episode of Lost Girl.  I played LOTRO for a while after dinner, and watched a few episodes of Enterprise, season 3.

I listened to the sleet hitting the window as well.  I hope I'm not snowed in tomorrow.  I'll have two days worth of work to do now.

Busy Monday

Lots of meetings, and I managed to squeeze some work in too :)  It was a grey day today anyway, so it wasn't like I was longing to be outside.

After work, I did some moving of boxes in the basement, so the furnace guys can actually get to the furnace to replace it.  Also did a little laundry.  We had steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli for dinner, I put a few old pictures on Facebook, then played LOTRO.  That was pretty much my whole day.

Tomorrow - nothing exciting in the forecast (except for the snow tomorrow night).  I'm so tired of snow.

Day off, part 4

And last part.  I get to go back to work tomorrow.

Played DDO in the morning for a while, then we went and got her hair cut and colored.  That took an hour and a half, and I just read a book.  We went to Noodles for lunch/dinner after that, and then to Jurassic Park.

It was fun to see it on the big screen, but the 3D wasn't all that impressive.  When we got home she watched the country music award show and I played LOTRO and watched Cupcake Wars (with Weird Al), Storage Wars - Texas, and a Wicked Tuna episode.  After that, I played Eve for a little bit.

One of the drawbacks to sleeping in, is that you're not tired at bedtime.  I'll bet I'm going to be tired in the morning tho...

Day off, part 3

Well, I'm counting that way :)

Played LOTRO in the morning, watching Ancient Aliens and Restaurant Stakeout, till it was time to go...except my back threw a fit, so we didn't go anywhere.  I sat on a heating pad and an ice pack on the couch when that happened, and we caught up on our tv - Chef Wanted, Person of Interest, Elementary, Golden Boy.

After a quick dinner of soup, I played some more LOTRO, and watched a mess o' Storage Wars: Texas - Most of them (maybe all of them were repeats, but I hadn't seen them yet.

Day off, part 2

Temps dropped today - it actually snowed a little.  Slept in a bit, then just puttered around, cleaning up before the Furnace folks came.  Watched all the remaining Worst Cooks episodes, then we had leftover chinese for dinner.

We watched Star Trek and Princess Bride after dinner, then I played a little LOTRO and watched Enterprise before bed.

Tomorrow is running around day.

Day off, part 1

Didn't sleep in, because I woke up with another stupid headache.  I just kind of sat around in front of the computer till it went away, then I put in my passport application, picked up T's prescription and lunch at Arby's.  I played LOTRO till dinner, and watched several episodes of Enterprise/

We had chinese for dinner, watched Lost Girl and CSI.  Afterwhich, I played LOTRO again, and a few more episodes of Enterprise.

I'd forgotten some of these episodes completely.  I enjoy re-wartching them.

Tomorrow we have someone coming over to give an updated estimate for the furnace replacement.  Other than that, it's going to be a quiet day!

Wednesday

I have the next few days off.  Yay me.  Going to pretend work doesn't exist for four days.

We had leftovers for dinner, and watched 19 kids and counting.  Then I played LOTRO and caught up on some of my viewing - Wicked Tuna and a few old episodes of Undercover Boss.

I'm sleeping in tomorrow, even though I have some errands to run around and do.

Not a good start to the day

Got a muscle twinge in the shower in my back.  ouch.  Tripped after putting on my shoes, bashed into the wall. ouch again.  Most of the day at work was trying to feel comfortable after all that.

After work, we just kind of lazed around.  We did do some more laundry, had grilled cheese for dinner, watched Bones.  After that I surfed the web for a while, found out how to get a passport...I'll probably do that on Thursday.

I played LOTRO for just a little bit before bed.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a less clumsy day!

Oh look, it's Monday again.

Sometimes the days drag, but the weeks fly by.  It was much chillier today, might have hit 35.  Supposed to be back near 50 later in the week.

Work was nothing too exciting for a change.  After work, I got a haircut, finally, and then we took a walk around the block.  Going to try and do that every day, and extend our distance a little bit each week.

We had pasta with alfredo and mushroom sauce for dinner, and watched last week's Golden Boy.  Then she went to bed and I played LOTRO for the rest of the night, catching up on old Wicked Tuna episodes that Tivo most kindly recorded for me.

I thought about doing an April Fool's joke or two today, but just didn't have the energy...

Sunday

Decided to just stay home today - cheaper that way.  We had soup for lunch and BLTs for dinner.  We did laundry, watched a little tv, including a new show called Orphan Black on BBC, something to do with clones.  Don't have all the details yet - it just started.

I played some DDO in the morning, and LOTRO on and off throughout the day.  I also started watching a show called Wicked Tuna, about tuna fisherman.  Like Deadliest Catch, but with tuna. :)

Tomorrow's Monday.  Cold, blustery, Monday.

Game Day, for the most part

Played DDO in the morning, after I (finally bought our concert tickets to P!nk).  We went shopping after she got home from work, and then sat on the couch, had a little dinner and watched most of the Wizard of Oz.

After that, she watched Ghost Adventurers and I played LOTRO and watched a marathon of Storage Wars: Texas.

We're talking about going to a casino tomorrow.  We'll see.  After spending a bunch on those tickets, I'm not so sure we should spend more at the casino.

Friday!

After work was done, we visited the comic book store and Barnes & Noble.  Then we went to Famous Dave's BBQ for dinner.

When we got home, we just kind of plopped down.  Started some laundry, surfed Facebook for a little bit then I came back in the study and played LOTRO till bedtime, and watched a marathon of Triple-D episodes.  Most were older ones I hadn't seen before.

Thursday

Work was busy but not stressful for a change.

We had chicken with gorgonzola from trader joe's tonight, with some boiled potatoes.  We watched Bitchin Kitchen and Lost Girl as well, as well as bits and pieces of Princess Bride (it was on tv, but sadly edited).

After that, I played LOTRO for a while, and watched Restaurant Stakeout and an episode of Property Brothers.  Tomorrow is Friday, yay.

Just another day

dealing with the continued fallout of yesterday at work, but I also got to work on other things for a change.  Things that actually ARE part of my job.

Anyway, we had chili for dinner, watched the Duggars and Hawaii 5-0 before her bedtime.  I spent some more time re-rendering the video I messed up last night, and reading a book while it was running.  I don't have a powerful enough computer to
1) render a video
2) watch tv, and
3) play an online video game

all at the same time.  So I just chose option 1 :)

Ugg

Stressful day at work.  Let's just leave it at that.

After work, we had ham and cheese sandwiches for dinner, watched Golden Boy and Bones.  Then I worked with After Effects some, trying to render a new video.  It finally finished, and I found a typo.

So, I have to start over.  Tomorrow.  I ended the day finishing Restaurant Impossible, and then went to bed.

Monday

At least it wasn't a terrible Monday.  Things went well - everything except my stomach.  Still feeling 'ucky'.

Didn't have any dinner tonight, except for some Ritz crackers.

Watched a couple of Storage Wars, Triple - D, and started to watch Restaurant Impossible before I just decided it was time to lie down.  I did play LOTRO while watching TV.

The weather is finally cooperating - above freezing, and the ice on the sidewalks is finally melting away.

About in the middle of our Trader Joe's visit, I started to feel not well.  It persisted all the way home, so after we put away some of the groceries, I laid on the couch and we watched Chef Wanted and a couple other shows.

After about 830 or so, I started to feel somewhat better so I went back to the computer and played LOTRO a bit, and caught up on Storage Wars Texas.

Tomorrow should be a quiet day at work.  I have a plan of things to get done, so here's hoping things go according to plan!

Saturday

We decided to stay home today.  I played LOTRO on and off throughout the day, and worked on the dvd movie a bit.

We had homemade chili again for dinner, and watched CSI while we had it.

Tomorrow we have chores and errands to run.

Finally Friday

Finally.  Work was ok.  We had a team activity this afternoon that broke up the flow a bit - we watched a movie as a group.

After work, we just kind of vegged on the couch.  We watched the Duggers, Hawaii 5-0, and Lost Girl.  After she went to bed, I played LOTRO and watched Restaurant Stakeout and one episode of Property Brothers before heading to bed myself.

More of the same day

Work was more of the same, although this high intensity, high profile project is just about done.  Thank goodness.

After work we went and saw Oz, the Great and Powerful.  It was a great movie, both in terms of story and in terms of effects.

2 hours long, tho, so plan bathroom breaks accordingly :)

When we got home I surfed the web a little.  Tomorrow is Friday.  Finally.

Rough Day

My stomach bothered me when I got up, and it slowly got better throughout the day.  Had lunch with some of the upper management - a 2 hour lunch with a lot of talkity talk.  A couple hours later my stomach was bothering me again.

So no dinner tonight, except a few crackers.  I played LOTRO and watched an episode of Restaurant Impossible and Good Eats.

Called it an early night.  Hopefully rest will make my stomach feel better.  I certainly hope so.

Still cold

It was 9 when I started out for work today.  It was 21 when I came home.  Work was semi productive for a change.

We decided to have pizza for dinner.  We watched the next episode of Vikings and yesterday's Bones.  After that, I played LOTRO and watched a Triple D and two episodes of Storage Wars.

Looking forward to the weekend still.  Might even reach 30.

Monday

Enough with the snow and cold already!  We got about 3 inches this morning, and it made for a long drive into work.  I got a breather on the tax issue today, as I got to pass it off to someone else to work for a day.  I get it back tomorrow, tho.

When I got home, I shoveled.  That pretty much took all the energy out of me.  I had a bowl of soup, then played LOTRO and watched several episodes of Enterprise at the same time.

It's supposed to remain cold for the next few days.  I'm ready for spring.

Stay at home day

She didn't get much sleep last night, so she spent part of the day sleeping on the couch.  I tried getting my new webcam to work - not sure if it is actually working or not.  I got tired of messing around with it after a couple hours, so I played LOTRO and SimCity.

 I started feeling 'blech' in the afternoon, so I didn't have dinner.  We watched the season finale of America Unearthed, and a little of random tv, before she went and laid down.  I played some more LOTRO and then a little Eve.

It's supposed to snow tomorrow morning.  Not precisely looking forward to that.

Saturday

Played Eve in the morning and watched a couple more episodes of Enterprise.  We did our shopping, stopped by Popeye's for dinner, then I played DDO and SimCity until bed.

Quiet day relatively speaking.

Friday

going to be a short update as I'm tired and don't feel well.  work was more of the same, although I did leave early because of not feeling well.

We caught up on Elementary and Person of Interest during dinner, and after dinner I played LOTRO.  Hoping to go to the movies tomorrow if I feel better and if it's not snowing.  again.

Thursday

Started the day with snow, which fouled up traffic somewhat fierce.  You'd think people would know how to drive in snow in Minnesota.

Work was uneventful - more of the same over and over.  After work, we had home made burritos for dinner, watched Golden Boy and Chef Wanted.

I moved into my office and played LOTRO again, and watched Restaurant Impossible.  Tomorrow's Friday.  Can't wait!

Wednesday

Halfway through the week.  At least there's that.

Work was hectic, but I managed to slide a few things in that needed to get done amidst all the other stuff going on.

We had leftovers for dinner, and watched the next episode of Vikings, and Lost Girl.  After that, I played LOTRO for a little bit, watched Restaurant Impossible, and then played a little Eve before calling it a night.  At least I don't have a meeting as soon as I walk in the door tomorrow.

Tuesday

started the day with another one of those painful neckaches.  Made me late for work.  Fortunately, they got along without me for an hour.

The day was a little rough because of that though.  I survived.

We had chinese delivered because we didn't want to cook.  We watched the Duggers' visit to Asia, the first of three specials.  I thought it kind of funny that these two families from Arkansas had never had sushi.  Their reaction to it was pretty funny.

After that, I played LOTRO and watched a couple more episodes of Enterprise.

Monday

Today went pretty fast, considering I didn't sleep very well last night.  After work, we had leftovers, and watched most of Forrest Gump.

After that I played LOTRO for a little while and watched Triple D and another episode of Enterprise.

I also looked at my dvd project, and I'm going to have to start a bunch of it over.  When you letterbox a letterboxed movie...it becomes a postage stamp.

Lesson learned I guess!

Sunday

Spent the bulk of the day working on the wedding DVD.  Got a lot of it done.  Got it almost done, actually, except that when I was building the final dvd, I found that some of the changes I made early in the day weren't saved, so I have to back up quite a few steps and redo them.  ugh...

Other than that, it was a quiet day, even with the stupid time change.  I played LOTRO after dinner, rather than going back to the dvd.  I'll hit it again next weekend.

Rainy Day

It rained nearly all day today, so we stayed inside.  I played LOTRO most of the day, and she napped.  After lunch we caught up on a lot of TV shows, including 3 episodes of Golden Boy, a new cop show.  Pretty interesting.

I was so tired yesterday after work, and after shopping, that I just went right to bed.  Tomorrow it's supposed to snow some, so we'll probably stay in again, unless I need to step out to shovel.

Thursday

As soon as you think you're out, they pull you back in.  Looks like I'm going to be putting aside some of my work to get back on the second part of this project.

After work, we got gas and then stopped by Culvers for dinner.  After we got home, I played LOTRO for a while, and watched the rest of the special features from Season One and the first few episodes of Season Two of Enterprise.

Tomorrow is Friday, but it's going to feel like Thursday.

Wednesday

Although it was a day full of meetings, they were actually productive meetings.  I got some stuff done, we got some decisions made.

We had leftovers for dinner, and I played LOTRO.  I watched the last three episodes of Season One of Enterprise, and some of the special features on the last dvd.

Tomorrow will be more of the same (except the leftovers - there aren't any more) :)

Snow Day

Spent the day at home - called in to several meetings, and spent a big 2 hour chunk taking care of the snow.  We got at least 7 inches.

During the day, I downloaded a trial version of Adobe After Effects.  Want to see if it's going to work for this little project I'm working on for my niece-in-law.

After the wife got home, we had a simple pasta dish and watched a Property Brothers and Lost Girl.  Afterwards, I played LOTRO for a while and watched a couple episodes of Enterprise.

Tomorrow, I have meetings from 9 to 3.  Non-stop.  Not really looking forward to not getting a break.

Monday

Not much snow today - supposed to get the bulk of it tonight, so I'm working from home tomorrow to shovel between conference calls.

Work was weird - a huge chunk of my day wasn't focused on that tax issue.  I got a little bit of backlogged work done.

Had leftovers for dinner, and we watched Bones and Iron Chef America.  After that I was going to play LOTRO but the game was having problems, so I played Eve and watched Triple D and an old Iron Chef America.

Hopefully the snow isn't going to be heavy.  Depending on how long it falls, I might end up shoveling twice.  Definitely getting some exercise!

Back to Normal (I hope!)

Slept in a little today, then played DDO until she was ready to go.  We ran a lot of errands - Pharmacy, Menards, MOA (still busy, but at least we found a parking space!), and Target.  We also ate supper at MOA, at Long John Silvers.

After we got home and put everything away, we watched some tv - the last two episodes of Mankind Decoded, and Gator Boys.  After she went to bed, I watched Clone Wars and last week's Iron Chef America.

I played a little bit of LOTRO, but not much.  We're supposed to get a storm here starting tomorrow through Tuesday, and I want to be rested up for the snow removal stuff...on top of work.

Saturday

Played LOTRO for a little bit in the morning, then we went to the comic book store, and drove to mall of america....and came back because there was no place to park.

We did a couple errands, then came back home.  We watched America Unearthed and Chef Wanted.  After that, I played LOTRO some more and watched a few episodes of Enterprise before going to bed.

We might try the mall again tomorrow.

Finally Friday

After leaving work at 130 this morning, I went straight to bed.  It was a long day.  Today was a short day.  I went in at 11, and left at 430.  I got the one task done that I needed to do, so I was happy with that.  And happy to end the day.

I vegetated on the couch a bit when I got home, then we had some dinner and watched Mankind Decoded and CSI.  After that, I played LOTRO and watched a few episodes of Enterprise before I went back to bed.  I imagine I'll finally catch up on my sleep tonight into tomorrow.

And not thinking about work until Monday.

Longest day yet

just shy of 12 hours today.  whew.  The urgent part is almost over, though (our deadline is 3/1), so I can turn this over to someone else and get back to less urgent/emergency things.

We were both tired tonight.  Since I got home so late, I made my own dinner.  After dinner, I played LOTRO and watched Property Brothers and Restaurant Impossible.  Then I went to bed.

Tomorrow at least I don't have a meeting as soon as I walk in the door.  I'll take my improvements where I can get them :)

Hockey Night

Went to the Wild game tonight - that's why I had to leave on time today (and of course, I didn't).  I swear, I spend more time meetings about the work that needs to be done than actually doing the work.  Can't get the work done if I'm in a meeting talking about it.

I'll probably head in really early tomorrow to get work done before the marathon meetings talking about the work that needs to be done.
