I took tomorrow as a MHD (Mental Health Day), even though the temp is only going to be about 3.

Tuesday

What a mess.  No, not the weather, or the roads.  Work.  Being asked/told to set aside stuff I was just told yesterday was a priority to help someone else out, even though I really can't do anything to help them.

In a word: Frustrating.

We had pork chops for dinner and watched Iron Chef America and Lost Girl.

I played a little LOTRO after dinner, then headed to bed.  I hope tomorrow is a less hectic day.

Moanday

(As one of my very best friends puts it)

Today was pretty hectic.  I made it in fine - the roads were fine once I got off the side streets.  I got all but one of the reports done (had to wait until tomorrow anyway), worked on a lot of tax issues, which may or may not have been an issue...'self correcting' they called it - it works out if you look at it over a period of 20 years.  We'll see.

We had a simple dinner of chicken and brussell sprouts, watched Bones, and then she went off to bed.  I played LOTRO until my bedtime.  Tomorrow is a day full of meetings, so I need to do that final report first thing, or I'll never get to it.

Early Night

Got up and played Eve for a bit this morning.  After brunch (pancakes and bacon), I was going to go to the comic book store, but it was sleeting, so I scratched that idea.  I filled the birdfeeder instead.

I played LOTRO most of the afternoon.  Around dinner time, I looked outside and saw snow, so I went and shoveled about an inch, inch and a half.  Which made me sore.  We had chicken fried steak for dinner, watched a little tv (some cooking shows and Property Brothers), then I played a little more LOTRO.

If the roads are bad in the morning, I may work from home all day.  I have a lot of reports to work on for a project that went in yesterday, so it's not like I need a lot of interaction for that.

Errand Day

Played on the computer a little this morning, then we ran our errands:

Comic Book store - no parking, so we didn't go in.

Target

After we got home from all that running around, we caught up on some tv - America Unearthed, a couple cooking shows, Mankind Decoded, and after she went to bed I watched two episodes of Clone Wars.  Played a little more then headed to bed.  Tomorrow is laundry, and I'm going to try and visit the Comic Book store again :)

Friday

Started the day with a headache - a pretty ugly one.  I decided to work from home in the morning, and take the afternoon off to rest.

I ended up working from home on some emergency issues, and then again in the afternoon.  I only partly got done my work that I had scheduled for today.  And I didn't get the rest I wanted.

We had leftover chili again for dinner, watched CSI and a show about the Human Family Tree - a thing about DNA hosted by Kevin Bacon.

After that, I played LOTRO for a bit, and headed to bed.  My headache is gone, but my eye is bothering me - even eyedrops aren't helping.  Hopefully some sleep will 'reset' it.

Another Day, Another Dollar

or whatever the going rate is now.  Work went by fairly quickly.  Had leftovers for dinner, surfed the web for a little bit, played LOTRO for a while, then went to bed.

Cold tends to suck the energy right out of me.  Not that interested in doing much.  Supposed to start warming up now, tho, at least for a few days.

Guess what...

... yeah, still cold.  Not AS cold, but still cold.

Work wasn't anything special.  Never even saw the clients - they were locked up in the conference room all day.

We had leftover chili for dinner, and afterwards I played LOTRO and watched a Dinner Impossible.

After that, it was off to bed.  At least it's a short week this week, even if it is cold!

Still Cold

Had leftover pork for lunch, so I didn't have to go out at all (except to go to work obviously).

Work was ok - lots of little things to work on, kept me busy.  We had Chinese delivered for dinner, so guess what I'm having for lunch :)

Watched Hawaii 5-0 and Lost Girl during dinner, then played some LOTRO till bed.  Watched a Triple-D while playing as well.

Tomorrow we have some clients visiting, so I guess I better be on good behavior :)

Pretty dang cold day

otherwise known as Monday.  Not sure what the high was today. It was -4 the last time I checked. 

Took advantage of having the day off.  Watched both Sister Act Movies, Willy Wonka (the Johnny Depp version), and played LOTRO.

We had home made chili for dinner, and watched a few cooking shows as well as yesterday's Hawaii 5-0 and Iron Chef America.

Back to work tomorrow, where the high is actually supposed to be above 0.  Well, I can't complain.  I wanted 4 seasons, and this is definitely winter!

Sunday

It did indeed get cold, so we stayed inside.  I played AC2 most of the day.  We had a pork loin and some root vegetables for dinner, and watched 101 Inventions that Changed the world - not quite as cheesy as the last couple versions of this.

After that, I played a little LOTRO and went to bed.  I get tomorrow off.  I plan on not putting it to good use :)

Saturday

Played a little LOTRO in the morning, waiting for her to get ready.  We did get our shopping done:

Barnes & Noble - they didn't have Star Trek on BluRay.  I did get the soundtrack to the Hobbit, though.

Best Buy - they didn't have it either.
Long John Silvers - lunch

That was all Mall of America shopping.  then we went across town and I got my hair cut at Fantastic Sams.  Then we went to Trader Joes and Target to get some groceries.  Target didn't have the DVD either.  Guess I'm getting it online.

The temp when we started the day: 36.  The temp when I wrote this entry: 4.

The cold of winter has returned full-force!

Friday

Work took a while today - several things happening at once, but it all got taken care of.  I did get a call at 1030 about problems with the system.  They did get it fixed without my help, and without my having to log in and send emails everywhere to everyone.  Hopefully it'll be fixed by the right people before Tuesday.

We watched CSI NY and I played LOTRO for a while after dinner.  I got a little frustrated trying to find a box of boots. There were three boxes in town, and I could only find two.  I finally did a web search to find a map to help me find the last stupid box.  If I ever do that quest again, at least I'll know where the boxes are!

Back

Some excitement at work today, with one of our websites going down for a while.  Also got to work on some projects and some troubleshooting.

Internet came back about 3pm, so it was here and waiting for me when I got home.

We had some chicken tenders and salad for dinner, and we watched CSI and a Property Brothers episode.

After that I played LOTRO for a while and then went to bed.  Tomorrow it's supposed to be 40, and it's Friday - both good things.

Not looking forward to the high on Monday, though.  -2.

Missing Internet Day

Our Internet connection has been down since midnight last night.  At least we have the cellular modem, to check emails and do some simple surfing.

Called CenturyLink, and at least they're aware of the problem 'and working on it'.

Watched Lost Girl, two episodes of Storage Wars NY, and two episodes of Star Wars the Clone Wars.  Beyond that, not much exciting today.

Tuesday

Warmer! Almost hit 30 today.

Got some work done today.  Also had to pick up the pieces of a project left when someone quit with almost no notice - that's pretty rude.

We watched the double episode of Bones, Hawaii 5-0 and Iron Chef America during and after dinner.  Didn't play any tonight, since we were in front of the TV for quite a long time.

Monday

Not a very exciting day at work, which is usually a good thing.  Still pretty cold out, although next week they're forecasting very cold, like minuses for highs.  That's crazy-cold.

We watched Rachel vs Guy during dinner, then I played LOTRO and watched a Good Eats.  It had to do with eclairs and creampuffs, so I kept it.

Cold!

I don't think it even hit 10 today.  Another stay at home day for us!

I played Eve for a while in the morning, then we watched some TV, including CSI NY and 101 Objects that changed the world.  Another lame show in execution, although the concept sounded good.  I don't see how the Frisbee changed the world, for example.

Tomorrow is back to work day.  ooo. Can't contain the excitement!

Saturday

Didn't do much today.  Played LOTRO and Eve, watched several TV shows and several movies.  Did a couple of loads of laundry, but that was about it.

The high tomorrow is supposed to be 11.  Probably won't be going out tomorrow either!

Fog

Another foggy day - love foggy days.

We had a going away lunch for my boss today, and I learned I can't tolerate ice cream any more. even with Lactaid.

We had kraut and sausage for dinner - I could handle that just fine.  We watched Elementary and Person of Interest, and then I played LOTRO till bedtime.  I watched The Music Man with Robert Preston while I was playing.

Supposed to be really cold tomorrow, so we'll probably stay indoors. We have food and entertainment, so it's not like we'd be bored!

Thursday

It did start raining today.  Hopefully it won't freeze too badly tonight.  I did get some work done today, even though I did have a bunch of meetings.

After work, I came home and played LOTRO for a while, while the wife was getting her hair done and visiting a friend.  She has an interview tomorrow - hope it goes well!

Watched Serenity while I was playing, so now I'm done with that series.  Not sure what I'll watch next.

Wednesday

More meetings about things that might never happen.  Did get some work done on a personal project of mine - we'll see if I can get it done before the end of the month.

Still not feeling all that great, so just had grilled cheese for dinner.  We watched a couple of cooking shows, Storage Wars: New York, and that was about it.

I played a little LOTRO, and called it a night.  Supposed to get warm and rain tomorrow.  Weird weather for January in Minnesota.

Happy Hour

Are you supposed to be happy at Happy Hour?  I wasn't feeling that great all afternoon, but we had a company happy hour to go to, so I went for about 45 minutes, had a glass of water, and left.  I think I overdid lunch, or I just can't have Chipotle any more.

I had some peanut butter toast for dinner - that was it.

We watched CSI NY, Iron Chef America, and Rachel vs Guy cookoff.  While we were watching that, I did a little more genealogy for the wife.

After that, I played LOTRO for a little bit and watched this week's Triple-D.

Monday

Hate mondays.

Used our newest Blu Ray player tonight - watced Back to the Future 1, with the trivia track on - it pops up little tidbits about the film, the story, whatnot while the movie's going.  There's also a storyboard track and setups/payoffs track, so I guess I'll be going back couple more times :)

Sunday

Made it to the Hobbit today - saw the High Frame Rate version.  Was very different from normal film, more like video.

Stopped by the comic book store, but that was it for our excursions today.  We watched a show called 101 Fast Foods that changed the world - it wasn't that impressive about things that changed the world.  More like just a list of popular fast foods, and some of them weren't even fast foods.

Played a little LOTRO too.  Get to go back to work tomorrow too. Yay me.

Saturday

Slept in a little bit today - thought it would help my back which was hurting.  It didn't really.

Played LOTRO for a while in the morning, then we ran some errands - picked up our replacement DVD player, since they couldn't fix it.  Have to buy a new dvd too, since they apparently couldn't get it out.  Stopped by work to finish burning a data disc, stopped by Walmart to get some groceries, and came home.

Visited a bbq place for lunch. It wasn't bad.

Played LOTRO in the evening and watched two eps of Restaurant Impossible, some Good Eats episodes, and some Property Brothers episodes, and listened to the wife's running commentary about the Vikings game in the other room.

tomorrow the plan is to visit the comic book store and go see the hobbit again.  We'll see if we actually can do it.

Friday

Quiet day, slow night.  Watched Ancient Aliens, an old Jeff Dunham special, and called it a night.  Tried to do a little genealogy, but just not feeling it tonight.

Thursday

Still cold, supposed to get warmer tho.

Got through a bit of work today, managed to feel like I accomplished something.

We watched Person of Interest and Elementary tonight, a bit of the news and that was about it.  Still tired, so not staying up till all hours playing games.

Must be getting old (horror of horrors!)

Back to work

still cold, tho.

Most of work today was fixing reports that broke, or updating the 2013 calendar that no one updated before the end of the year, and then running all the reports that didn't run because of the missing calendar.  Boring work, really, but needed to be done.

We had a steak for dinner, and I played LOTRO for a little while.  I tried to watch an episode of Firefly, but someone had the tv so loud, I couldn't hear the computer right next to me, so I gave that up.

Still not feeling all that great, so it'll probably be an early night for me.

New Year's Day

Played Eve and LOTRO today, for a good part of the day.  Also made a quick trip to the store for a few groceries and some more Nyquil.  Can go a few hours now without coughing up a lung, so I must be getting better.

This evening we watched two episodes from the new Storage Wars show: New York.  I worked some more with the online genealogy while we watched those and an old old episode of Iron Chef America.

It was the coldest day of the season today - kinda chilly even in the house.
