That didn't help

Sleeping in just gave me a neckacke, and I spent the majority of the day with a headache, then a stomachache.

We did manage to make it to the movies - Watched Snow White and The Huntsman.  It wasn't a bad movie.  I played a little DDO in the morning, and after the movie we did a little shopping, then watched a little tv.

Tomorrow will be a stay indoors day for sure.

Tired

I hate being tired all the time.  I was going to post something else, but I forgot it... probably because I'm so tired.

Probably won't be getting up to do yardwork first thing. I'm sleeping in.

Almost Friday again

Sometimes time flies, whether you're having fun or not.  At least the house is bearable, and we can sleep.

If I can manage it, I'll spend part of Saturday morning before the heat starts to work on the sapling jungle.

It's going to be a stay at home weekend for sure.

Hot and Cold

The A/C seems to be keeping up. Even though it was awful hot (for us) outside, the house is under 80.  Much better than upper 80s.

Caught up on the Glades and Lost Girl tonight.  Next, we'll be working on Fringe.  When it cools off (if it cools off), we'll work on the fringe of the yard, and cut down the saplings that want to take everything over. Again.

Coolness

Just in time for the heat wave tomorrow.

Unfortunately, the downside is that the repair guy let us know our furnace is kaput.  "Condemmable" were his words.  So now we have to work on figuring out how to buy a new one.  Hope they'll take credit. 

We'll know in about a week, I guess - that's when our appt is to discuss our options.

Bandwidth

Think I figured out my bandwidth problem - my old blog system was compromised and was sending out some spam garbage.  I went ahead and deleted the old system (and all my old blogs, unfortunately), and the 56,000 spam bounce messages I had.

Hopefully that'll make July a quieter month.

A/C repairman comes tomorrow. Hopefully he can make July a cooler month.

Sunday

Did my work stuff first thing in the morning, which didn't take long.  Played a little LOTRO before lunch, then worked on cleaning house most of the afternoon.  Took a nap for a while, had some dinner, then played LOTRO a little bit more before calling it a night.

Hopefully, I'll be busy at work tomorrow, but I do have to call the a/c repair guy.

Partial Plans

Made it to the bank, to the movies, but only one, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.  I got motion sickness in the morning from trying to play Diablo 2, and she woke up with an equilibrium problem.  So after the movies, we did some grocery shopping, and came home.

She spent the afternoon on the couch, and I spent the majority of the day playing LOTRO (really playing, not fishing) :)

Friday

Finally.  It wasn't super hot today (no records broken).  Work went by pretty quickly, as I got busy doing lots of stuff (best kind of day).

After work, we ran to the comic book store where I got a couple new ones, the book store where we got a couple new books and a couple dvds, and then to Noodles for dinner.

I played LOTRO for a little while while watching Storage Wars.  Tomorrow, we plan to see at least two movies, clean the living room up a bit, and that's the extent of our planned excitement :)

Slow Day

Work was a rather slow day, or maybe it just seemed that way, since I was sleepy from the NyQuil.  We started catching up on The Glades during dinner, then I played LOTRO for a little bit before calling it a night.

Tomorrow is friday, and even though I'm still on call for the week, I'm so looking forward to the weekend.

Human Again

More or less.  Temps cooled way down (67 right now).  I'll be able to sleep in my bed, instead of at work!

Caught up on Lost Girl tonight (missed one due to the dish flaking out).  We had chinese take out for dinner - haven't had that in a while.  This weekend, I'm hoping to get some semi-serious house work done, at least in a couple rooms.  Way too cluttered around here.

Still Hot

Ended up sleeping (or trying to sleep) on the porch last night because it was slightly cooler than the house.  Will probably do it again tonight.  It's supposed to cool off tomorrow, though, so I can actually get some rest.

Payday is Friday, so I'll be able to call a repairman to get the house a/c working properly.

Hot

80 outside as I write this at 1pm.  I don't do well with heat, especially since the A/C in the house struggles to keep up. It's actually hotter in the house than it is outside (83).

My travel to Denver for work has been scheduled - I'm sure it'll be just as hot then.

Kind of a blah day

Got up at 10, and yet we didn't have enough time to go see a 4pm movie.  That set the tone for the whole day.

Did some grocery shopping, watched some tv.  that was the extent of the day.

Better

Amazing what 11 hours of sleep and some Musinex will do.

Went shopping this afternoon, picked up a couple new books, some dvds.  The wife picked up some more shoes.

We went to Ruby Tuesday for supper - the food was good, but the service was slow...disappointing considering it was 4pm, between lunch and dinner rushes.

Went to see Prometheus.  Good movie, but the sound wasn't that great where we sat.  The movie itself left me with some questions, which if they ever make a sequel, I guess they might answer.

Lost the battle

...spent most of the night not sleeping, so I didn't go to work today.  I spent most of the morning in a daze, so I didn't do anything productive.

Started to feel 'normal' about the time the sattelite guy came to fix our 'loss of signal'.  Turns out one of the connectors was corroded.  After he fixed that, we could get all our channels again.

Spent the evening catching up on some more shows - Bones, Lost Girl, some cooking shows.  Played LOTRO for a little bit, then went off to bed to try and get some sleep.

Down with the sickness..

...at least there's only one more day till the weekend.  Now, if I can cough and wheeze my way through tomorrow, I can rest on the weekend.

Quiet

Worked on several projects today, all of them documentation, and all of them just mine - I like those kind.  :)

Stopped by the comic book store after work, picked up a few, and then came home and helped unpack the wife's car.

We had sandwiches for dinner, watched the last two episodes of CSI NY for the season and one episode of Lost Girl.

All is quiet...except I'm getting a scratchy throat.

Oh, Look - It's Tuesday

Work was ok. Got some stuff done, got given some more stuff to do.

Had left over pizza for dinner, called DirectTv because some of our channels won't come in.  They're sending a tech out on Friday.  We watched Deadliest catch and the season finale of CSI (Vegas).  I logged in to play LOTRO for a little, then went to bed.

At least it wasn't very hot today.  The house stayed fairly cool.  This weekend may be tough though.  After the satellite repair, we'll probably have to schedule a furnace repair.

Home

Made it home.  Glad to be home.  Wish it wasn't so hot in the house.  Even after 3 hours of running fans and having windows open, it's still hot. :(

Get to go to work tomorrow. Yay me.

Ugh

Most of the drive today was just fine, construction wasn't a hassle, because it was Sunday.  We got a good lightning show in Lincoln, but then when we got to Omaha, the show turned into a deluge.  Rain was pouring down so hard we couldn't see the road.  We had to pull off the road twice hoping it would let up, but it didn't really until we got clear on the other side of Council Bluffs, to the exit for highway 6.  Then it was just regular rain.

Now we're in the hotel, having a reaaaaally late night dinner of pumpkin bread and bananas. 

30 Years and counting...

It's amazing the things you forget over 30 years.  Had a pretty good time at the reunion.  Was sad that they cancelled the class picture though - not enough participation.  Sat and chatted with an old friend, stood and chatted with some old friends, sat and chatted...you get the idea.

I'm going to try and commit to more communication with some of these folks more than once every 5-10 years.

Tomorrow is the start of the long drive back.  Here's hoping it's a quiet one!

Tired

That was a long drive - Avoca, IA to Denver, CO.  And I get to do it again in just another day.

Tomorrow's the reunion.  A mini-family one, and then the class one.  Still kind of nervous about that.

Repacking

Barely got the clothes out of the suitcase, even.  But we should be ready to go right after I leave work.  Caught up on Restaraunt Impossible, played some LOTRO, but that was about it tonight.

Tomorrow should be a fun day - only a few meetings, and I can continue working on my document.  Then 5 days of not thinking about work!

Of course, I'll be dog tired the last couple days after driving cross country. twice.

I am kind of nervous about my reunion.  I haven't seen anyone for 5 years, and out of 590 people, there's only a few I really know/remember anyway.  30 years is a long long time to try and remember folks, especially when you've been out of state for almost 20 of those years!

Back in the groove...

...for a little bit.  Gonna be back on the road shortly, but I think we'll split our trip into two 8 hour trips, rather than doing it all at once.

Mowed most of the lawn, had a simple pasta dish for dinner, watched the finale of Person of Interest, a couple of Storage Wars, and played a little bit of LOTRO.

Tired day

Made it over half the way through the day at work, but eventually had to come home.  Just tired, tired.

We had leftovers for dinner, and I watched (well, sort of dozed through) some Restaurant Impossibles and a couple of Iron Chefs that recorded while I was gone. 

Went to bed pretty early for me.  Maybe I can make up some of my time tomorrow, although I do have to mow when I get home, as the grass grew while I was gone :)

Home

11 hours later.

Now, I get to get up in 5 1/2 hours for work.

Yay.

Quick Update

The wife's class reunion went well, although it did rain on us a couple of times.  Quite a few people were there, and the party was still going when we left at 1030.

Tomorrow is the family reunion and the long drive home.

Movie Night

That was about the extent of the day. Slept in again, visited with the inlaws, then headed up to town (really!) to see Men In Black 3.  It got pretty late, so we came back and went to bed. 

Tomorrow is her class reunion - a picnic in someone's back yard.  That's what you get with having a graduating class of 90-some odd folks....as opposed to the 600 in my class!
