Well, that was a surprise

In the middle of a very long conference call, my director asks if I can come to Denver to finish these meetings in person.

It was really weird to be able to hop on a plan, rent a car, and drop in a hotel, all with only 5 hours notice.  I guess it helps to have a corporate credit card  :)

But here I am in Denver.  Won't be able to see family or friends, as the meetings are running 8am to 8 or 9 pm, and I fly back Friday.

Maybe next time.

It was nice out today

Of course, I was inside, so I couldn't enjoy it.  Kind of a slow day at work, for a change.

We had leftovers for dinner, I played LOTRO till bed.  The end.

Laundry Day

That was about it for today.  Played DDO for a little in the morning, then played LOTRO most of the day, in between batches of laundry.

Tomorrow it's back to work.

Pretty much as planned

Dealership to get the work done.  Shopping to the book store and the grocery store.  The only thing I didn't plan on was my knee hurting so much.

I ended up taking a painkiller, and used an ice pack while we watched Elementary, Person of Interest, and Chopped All Stars.

After that I played LOTRO for a while, watched Restaurant Impossible and a couple of old Iron Chefs.

Then went to bed.  Not sure if tomorrow is stay at home and do laundry, or head out to the movies.  Guess we'll see!

Friday

Started the day with snow - it snowed probably half the day, then switched to rain.  We had a potluck at work for Cinqo de Mayo, and I ALMOST got to go to Lincoln to do a demo.  At noon I was going, by 430 I wasn't.  I had to cancel my hotel reservation I had made during that time. 

After work, I went and had dinner with a friend.  Because I had that Mexican food for lunch, I went simple with tomato soup and grilled cheese.  We talked for over 3 hours, closing the place down.

I played Eve and watched Restaurant Stakeout before heading to bed.  Tomorrow is the dealership in the morning, and then...probably some shopping in the afternoon.

Snow

it missed our house - east side of town, and south got quite a bit.  15 inches in some places.  It was weird to drive into work and see 4 inches of snow on the ground, when there wasn't nothing when I left.

Work was another stressful day.  I was glad to get home.  We were going to go to the movies, but decided against it since today was the day Iron Man came out (I thought it was going to be tomorrow).

We watched CSI and pretty much called it a night.

Tired

Tired of snow.  Tired of stress going on at work.  Tired of not having time to clean up the house the way I want.

I need to win the powerball so I can retire and then have time to work on the house and the yard.  While I still can, at least.
