Happy Dance

I have a laptop again.  It's not exactly my old one, and i have to reinstall everything, but all kinds of things can happen now :)

For a day off, it was a busy day

Waited for the package, then had the gutters cleaned and repaired, trimmed the evergreen and pine trees, and cut down some more saplings, then made a dr appt for the new insurance (not till 11/2 - guess he's busy!), then went to the drug store and gave them the new insurance, then went to dinner at Noodles, then grocery shopping at Target, and now I'm home.

I'm going to watch some Star Trek, and play on the computer and enjoy the rest of my 'day off'. :)

Bleh

Paying medical bills isn't fun.  At least we're almost caught up.

And surprising, two of them don't have online bill pay.  This is the 21st century!!!

Yep, it's fall

the 'auto' temp in the car has started putting out heat instead of a/c, and we've had to put a quilt on the bed.

Won't be long before we have to turn on the heater in the house.  And then shoveling and firing up the snowblower.  Have to save money this year and not have a service.  Which kind of sucks, but not much of a way around it.

Houses

After watching some of these buying houses and fixer upper shows, i wonder if my taste is out of date.  I see people going through a house that I think 'oh that's nice', and they all say 'that has to go' or 'that's terrible'.

I must be disconnected from what's 'hip'.

At least we're going on vacation this weekend to a wedding in Indiana.  Farmhouses and 'whatever works' houses :)

Ugh

So the computer repair place took my laptop back, shipped it off.. and i got a call yesterday.  They want to replace the motherboard.  I had to call them back and explain to them that if they wanted to replace the motherboard again, they could certainly do so. at their own cost.

Communication seems to be lacking everywhere, not just at my work.

ugh.

Bad day today

The good days are getting few and far between now.  I need to start working on my resume.  You'd think a company would value 30 years of experience, but apparently not.
