Conspiracies

I've been watching a set of dvds of a show from the History Channel about conspiracies.  Jack Ruby, RFK Assassination, Diana's Death, all kinds of topics.  It's amazing what people can see in some simple events.

Of course, I believe there are always possibilities of strange, unexplained things, like UFOs for example, but I also think that a paraphrase of the old saying is true:  Never attribute to conspiracy what can be attributed to malice or stupidity.

Ceremonies

Went to a wedding today.  I got to wondering if 'normal' people think about the facts behind the various ceremonies we have in our daily lives - where certain rituals come from, why certain events are performed in a certain way.

Probably not.  It's probably just me thinking in strange ways.

Losing Money

I don't know how Barnes and Noble can be losing money, considering the significant percentage of my paycheck they get every week!

Even with coupons and member discounts, we spend bunches of money there.  They should be rolling in the dough!

Smells

Is there anything worse than the smell of burnt popcorn.  I don't know why people haven't figured out when to shut of the microwave.

On the other hand, is there any better smell than fresh baked bread?  Well, maybe bacon frying :)

The Weather

...everybody complains about it, but nobody does anything about it.  It's been hot and humid here lately, neither of which I like.  I would move to Indiana or Florida, or someplace like that.  I know there's not much we humans can do about it, with it being cyclical and all, but this human is going to complain about it.

30 years and 150 pounds ago it probably wouldn't have bothered me so much.  I spent time in San Antonio and Biloxi, so I know what it's like (or vaguely remember anyway!), but I'm not that same person anymore.  At least the A/C in the house works.  I think I'm going to have to take my car in for an a/c recharge though - it's not cold anymore, just cool.

One thing I won't usually do is complain about how cold it is.  I can always put more clothes on - there's a limit to how many clothes I can take off!

Rules

Ever wonder if there's anyone left on the road that actually follows the rules of the road?  Speed, use of turn signals, following posted signs?

I had that thought today on the way to work.  I don't get what's so hard about following the rules.

Frustrating day

very frustrating.  I'll just leave it at that.

Went to bed early for me. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
