Sun, Sand and Salt

Spent most of the day driving across Cape Cod.  We picked up my friend after breakfast, then drove all the way from Providence Rhode Island to Provincetown Massachusetts.  P-town was insane - people walking in the middle of streets, which were about 3/4 of a car wide, not getting out of the way, really stressful.

So, we didn't get to shop or eat in Provincetown.  We didn't even stop.  We headed over to Race Point Beach, and visited the Atlantic Ocean.  T spent a little while playing in the surf, while I stood on the beach and took some pictures and video.  Walking across the sand was a bit tough, but it was worth it to visit, even though it was a little hot.

After we left the beach there, we drove back down the cape, to see if we could get to a lighthouse on the coast.  We found that, then we went looking for the old Air Force Station where I was for a couple years in the early 80's, which was pretty close.  We found it - after 30 years, the place was still there.  It wasn't in the shape I remembered it though.

After that, we stopped and had some pizza on the cape, and drove back, dropped my friend off, and went back to the hotel.  I played LOTRO while she read and fell asleep.

Tomorrow, we're taking a tour of the lighthouses of Narraganset Bay.
